I have a friend in the Army.. stationed at Ft Bliss, Texas.

I've tried emailing him and I haven't gotten an answer. I can't get a hold of his mom either. And have no idea where his ex wife is.

How can I go about finding out if he was sent to Iraq?

Find out where he was stationed here in USA, Then call and find out his address , Most of the mail usually goes to the bases first then gets shiped out to where they are.

Go to the Ft Bliss web site all teh bases have one, do a search on google or yahoo. Somewhere there will be a link to those that were deployed.

That might be tough. I'd guess he's gone if you e-mail him regularlly and you usually get a response.I think all active military personell are rather busy right now. I hope your friend does well FG

All I know is he is in Supply.. and he is a Sgt.. stationed at Ft Bliss, Texas.

This is a real life friend.. not an online friend. My daughter was named after him. I lost contact with him.. and now I'm talking to my daughters father. He brought him up.. I had completly forgotten he was in the Army again (re enlisted after a few years out)

If he's getting ready to deploy then he's got orders not to communicate with anyone about the deployment. If the deployment is very close to occurring, then he will be locked-down, restricted to post, or even barracks. They may shut off internet access for security purposes-I'm not sure what they do about that nowdays though.

You can call Fort Bliss but I doubt if they'll give you any info for security reasons.

He may already be on his way over there though. Do you know what unit he is in?

I don't know how it is with every branch of the military or the ranks.. but one of my closest friends emailed me the night before it all began.

Another friend of mine has been emailing back with her friend who was called in from the Reserves.. she says told her that their time is so filled up right now with training and classes that it's hard to find a few minutes alone much less time to keep personal contact with others.

I hope that you're able to locate him.

There's like 800 supply sergeants at Fort Bliss. But you probably knew that.

I went to Patrick Air Force base where my brother is stationed from and there was a deployment link on it. Not sure if its for Air Force only but take a look.

I think the best you can do is call fort bliss and ask what unit he is in, they might tell you but I wouldn't count on it considering the circumstances. If they will tell you the unit, ask for an APO address and write him a letter.
