Hi everyone

I'm a (beginning) author and i got a question for you guys.
I've been trying to write some stories, but i get the impression my editors get annoyed with me or something. They either not write back or write back with extremely short answers.
It might be a coincidince, but i'm guessing i'm doing something wrong

So my question is When do you stop helping somebody or when are you annoyed enough that you quit it? What are those kind of actions of authors that annoy you a lot?

If something is bothering me about an author, whatever it is, I usually tell the author. If the story is something I know I don't want to edit, I usually just say so, and why. One issue with being a volunteer editor is time. With working and freelance projects, I've had to turn away Lit projects I would have edited if I had the time. Finding a volunteer editor who is a good match who can also edit all a writer's stories is rare.

If I am your editor i will tell you everything that is bothering me about your writing. As far as i know, that is what an editor does. However, people on Lit. are people and some have egos that are a mile long and an inch wide. Shoot me a sample and I'll tell you what is wrong with your writing and your attitude, if anything. I will PM you to give you my e-mai.

OOPS! you do not have your private messages enables, so I cannot give you my e-mail,not allowed in public forum, nor would i want to . Go to User Control Panel, scroll down to 'messages and click on the box next to allow private messages.l

woops sorry about that, changed it
What would you like me to send you? our email exchange or the story itself?

generally speaking for a moment, none of my editors have really told me anything that bugs them, as in i'm too familiar or too polite with them or i don't know what else.

age question for actors in stories ?

Just a quick question on age of "actors" in stories. I am looking to start writing. I live in Central Europe most of the year so age stuff is well you know... plus reading some incest stuff here. But I see most of writers say all participants 18+.... this is just words am I missing something why the worry about depicting say a 16 year old with an 40 year old? I see on other pages like totse not an issues.

Thanks. I like reading more risky stuff but also want to stay within any laws.

Here's the link to the site guidelines. This is the one pertaining to your post.

3. No sexual activity involving bestiality (you can write stories about supernatural beasts like ghosts, unicorns, werewolves, etc.) or underage persons will be considered. For the purposes of this site, the minimum legal age is 18. This site does not publish stories, articles, essays, or other material supporting, encouraging, or defending child abuse and/or exploitation.

Thank you MistressLynn. I can write about my E. Europe "legal" encounters then and will watch age issues. Thanks.

It's a site rule. The site owners have stated that they won't allow porn scenes with under-18s (even if the age would be legal in some places). Maybe they decided allowing under-18 scenes would attract unwelcome publicity and/or pedophile readers, maybe they just don't feel comfortable hosting that sort of content. Either way, they're paying the bills, they get to make that call.
