What do you think is the most exotic fruit and why?
mango... succulent, soft, sweet flesh... juicy and.... I am suppossed to be talking about fruit right?
Carambola (star fruit) is one a lot of people haven't tried, the taste is hard to describe, but they are good.
oohh... It's a BEAUTIFUL fruit. The skin is light greenish in color, if not yet ripe. It is shaped like a star. Hard to peel so I usually don't bother, and just slice it thinly...The taste is kind of tart...not quite like a lime, with the consistency of an asian pear that is just turning... it can be crunchy or soft if frozen and thawed... and when it is icy cold, the texture is smooth like ice.![]()
how's that?
Durian tastes and smells like ass mixed with a pus-filled wound.
Ataulfo mangoes, rambutin and fresh lychee are three exotics to try. All three are sweet and supple.
I think you would like ginep. Sweet juicy pulp around a large seed. Slightly tart tasting.
Tamarind is good too. Everyone seems to make them differently; I like them rolled in sugar and just a touch of salt. If you eat them on their own it will make your face pucker.
Billie Holiday.
Ohhhhh, I am adding ginep to my list. Tamarind is puckery good and I cannot imagine trying to make Thai or Indian food without it. It would be like leaving out the lime. Total fail. There is an Indian store here that sells just the fresh tamarind pulp, which I adore because I am lazy.
