Why is it that while "most" men find it highly erotic to even imagine two women together...and a lot of "straight" women are willing to have a sexual encounter with another woman...that true bisexual women are pretty much shunned by the gay community? I am not sure if this is also true for "Bi" men, but for women like me...who could have just as easily fallen in love and spent my life with a woman had she come along first ,it is very painful. The impression I get is that I am looked upon as a "fake" of sorts. How could I be with a man if I truly love women. Like many gay people I do not flaunt my sexuality, due to many factors...fear not being the least of them. I am very supportive of gay rights and do what I can to make people more openminded ( by the way Delta is the first airline to give employees in same sex relationships insurance coverage YEAH!!!) I guess my question is this....Do Gay-All-Day women look down on Bi-sexual women and if so why? Shouldn't compassion and understanding start at home?

An observation...

I may be wrong, (I often am lol) but I think it may be a question of trust.

Not thought about in any concious way, but if the gays of either sex, feel that bi people may some day find someone of the other sex more atractive, and they may loose your love to the enemy.

IMHO this may reflect on the fact, that when meeting people for the first time, weither in a bar or social event,if you are amongst gay people, they are likely to think that you are gay as well (first impression). When they find out that you are actually bi, I think they feel betrayed, not by the bi person but by the thought of sleeping with the enemy.

I have had a simmilar reaction when being out with gay friends, and people discover that I'm straight, I have been cold shouldered so often I just ignore it now.

LOL Siren...

well Siren I think you have seen how bent my mind can get.

I still can't get out of the lotus position once I get into it, and as for getting both feet behind my head, give me a break; (But I can get both feet in my mouth at the same time, LOL).

Ps.You will have mail.

I'm pretty sure that gay men shun us poor little bi-guys. This is taken from my limited contact with gays through online sources.

I live in a small town in east texas, so everybody thats different is either in hiding (me) or working for the same goal (at least they should be, in this bigoted place). Thats why I plan on moving to Austin for grad school.

Thank you for answering me...I have to agree with you , I think a general mistrust or feeling that "we" (bi women) are not willing to give 100% is the underlying reason we are shunned...what a shame Rand,it is so sad to me that anyone ( myself included) has to hide feelings of love or admiration or any other positive emotion towards people of the same sex for fear of being hated ourselves. Maybe we should all move to Vermont! :)I hear it's beautiful this time of year.

I can but both legs behind my head...does that get me any points?
