It's funny that they say they never heard the song before they recorded it though.

That could only be true if they hadn't been born! At the time that song came out, it was so overplayed you could hear it on HOLD!

You know what? I downloaded the original song and the Alien Ant Farm version, listened to them both, and I really like the new version better. Heresy, I know, but it's true. The new version is a little faster, a little catchier. The first time I heard it I was offended, but after hearing it every hour for the past month I think it's not to bad.

Brainwashed? Probably. But it needed a good washing.

Back... many many years ago... OK... late 70's - we put together a one time band for a friend's wedding. Called ourselves AWB - The Average Wedding Band and did all punk rock and reggae versions of all the wedding classics... Memories, Alley Cat... took any and all requests as well and turned them into punk songs...
