Warning: Long-Ass Rambling Post
Hello, I'm R Nitelight. I've been a member for just under three weeks, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Today, however, I fear I may have overstepped a little.
I enjoy the sexual roleplaying section, and am involved in several threads. When I was a dumb newbie, before I had any idea of what I was doing, I foolishly jumped in a thread and made what I thought was a wonderful contribution.
The participants, however, didn't see it that way. They issued a cease and desist order, whapped me on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper, and sent me on my way.
The new Literotica puppy, sadder but wiser, learned his lesson, and soon he started to fit in.
Then he joined in a thread called Dracula, stepping into the title role. I was graciously accepted, as so it started. Fine.
Then, another player asked to join in. Fine.
The more the merrier, I always say. I hope everyone gets a chance to play.
Here's where Nitelight oversteps.
The interaction between Dracula and the player who started the thread seemed to be going well. A little rough, but nothing that couldn't be worked out over the course of time.
The third player, however, introduced a character that I felt clashed with the story. I made a brief attempt to incorporate the character into the story, but I just didn't see it working.
I made a creative decision. I reached out and snapped the character's neck.
I'm Dracula, okay?
Pretty shocking move, right? Pretty gutsy decision, right?
Well the other players were none to pleased. And as I thought about it, I realized they were right. It's supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be inclusive. But I made an executive decision.
I'm Dracula, Dammit. There should be bodies all over the place. Still, I'm a little struck by my shortsighted insensitivity, and I wish to end this post with a heartfelt apology to anyone who was bothered by this decision.
Did anyone actually read this whole damn thing? Any opinions?
