Protests, protests everywhere!

I forgot my camera, but a friend sent some pics in the mail.

One of the best slogans I saw was:

Support the troops.
Bring them home.

I don't understand the logic of calling it supportive to send them into war.

Don't people understand they could get killed invading other people's countries?

It's shitty quality, but like I said, I didn't take the pic.

The enemies within, perhaps? If so, who are they really?

Hi, Sandia!

The protests here in Las Vegas have been beautiful-- totally peaceful and legal, but very lively and spirited. I haven't even gotten arrested yet! I'm so embarressed!
*hangs head in shame*
;)

Hey, honeybuns!

Go away for 2 weeks and come back and nothing has changed... it's like a bad soap opera here.

Same idiots... same anti-Americanism... same bullshit posts.

Scary as it is, if SOME of you had a fucking life and a REAL job, you might learn something.

What a bunch of bullshit. Have a nice day.

Did you see me on local TV Wednesday night?
;)

I'm starting to think it's a good thing that North Korea could reach San Francisco with a nuke.

The cops were a little stand-offish, but they were perfectly polite.

We marched from the Capitol down Congress Ave to the park on the south side of Town Lake. I understand some people got arrested at another protest last night, though.

Yeah, they were laying in the middle of the street, they should have been arrested.

They were just given citations for the most part, and told to show up at court.

Oops, I stand corrected

I guess there were some small protests in New York.

To refresh you memory, pigboy, on 9.11 3,000 Americans were murdered in NYC. They know what we are up against. The folks in San Fran are just out of work and looking for a place to score weed.

I don't think anyone takes commie cocksuckers seriously.

This defends their positions....

It boils down to their lack of awareness for anything except hatered for their country.

They're funny, like monkeys in the zoo when they throw shit.

Personally, I got a huge kick out of watching the guy in San Francisco beat the crap out of three protesters who were blocking his way. Our troops are over there risking their lives for others and these morons have the balls to fucking protest them? None of us likes war, but now that we're into it, I think every American ought to support the Hell out of them, unconditionally!

Just WHO and for WHAT are they risking their lives for?

I am so fucking sick of people taking hold of something and portraying it as a victim to support their own stance. It's always something:

"The Iraqi civilians are going to die in the bombing."
"The Iraqi civilians are starving from the US imposed sanctions."
"The Iraqi Army is undermanned, the US is just being a bully."
"The US soldiers could die in combat."

It's the same thing recycled time and time again. And while they are all valid concerns, the truth in most cases is that the concern is not sincere, and being tossed foward as nothing more than justification for their political viewpoint.

I'm sick and tired of people assuming that just because I'm against this war I'm against America and our soldiers. I love our soldiers. I don't want them to have to die for me. I think that's as patriotic as you can be? This war is not going to solve anything. oh - we may look really big and tough for awhile, but let's see how foreward thinking this war turns out to have been in 20 years or so......

I agree with you entirely. I haven't really stated my opinions on any bulletin board and have tried to avoid disagreements about it with people in real life. What's debating about it going to do, especially in cyberspace? I'm getting really irritated with the opinions of so many [not directed at anyone in this thread, just in general] that because I don't agree with this war I'm anti-American, unpatriotic, unsupportive of the troops there, and if I hate it all so much I should go find somewhere else to live. In my opinion this war is an idiotic farce, I don't like the decisions Bush is making in general, in the presidential office and while he was a governor. That in no way makes me anti-American or unpatriotic.

You like Iraqi people to die under Hussein?

Of course not. I think something should be done about Saddam, but not attacking Iraq. Why risk more lives - Iraqi, American, British, etc., destruction of Iraqi towns and so on? More of an effort should've been made for a peaceful resolution. I think we jumped the gun on this one.

The stormtroopers. Marching in formation. It was like a bunch of Darth Vaders, lots of shiny black, features hidden to keep their human side out of this.
