Progressive NIMBYs

Well, at least you finally cut to the chase.

You just want death to everyone who disagrees with you.
You're just like one of those Christian terrorists...

Let them live in the streets where they belong!

We need to think property values here people.

I have a couple of friends who sold their beautiful 19th Century Nob Hill residence in San Francisco to move into a nice quiet little spread in Mill Valley 15 miles north of San Francisco in order to get away from the progressive shit hole they admittedly had a hand in creating.

These are good people, prominent citizens, Stanford/Berkeley alumni, poisoned early in life with liberalism. Despite all they have they aren't happy people. Just like the progressives here they never look inwardly when their social planning fails. Something else has to be wrong, it can never be them. All they need is a new start somewhere else where they can plant their seeds anew.

We knew you were lying after the first few words.

I don't quite understand.

In a rich district - I can see some Leftist logic there.
Either Socialist or "let's stick it to the rich"

But the article also mentioned that the area is a primary tourist attraction and hosts international events. So why destroy That source of income for the city?
I think it was just gross incompetence at play
(they saw an area that could accomodate a building, had no foresight of the implications).

A remarkable achievement for which you will receive high marks and praise from....

who was that again?

Oh, that's right, nobody.

I found out that if I started a thread a day on a randomly selected topic, that they would spend so much time trolling me that they would leave my friends alone...

Also 666 here clearly mistook an acronym for a pejorative so he spent the morning following me around calling a nimby as if that were going to somehow 'trigger' me...

It's really quite funny.

Look, the city has become notorious in the last few years when it comes to the antics of the homeless and the paralysis of action that they inflict upon the beautiful people who keep trying to follow the dictates of the orthodoxy of belief and discrimination that they wish to impose upon others. The homeless trash the streets including needles and feces, harass the tourists with the trash and their in-your-face attitude and all of this is done with an air of impunity.

Therefore the opposition to a homeless shelter has nothing to do with the plight of the homeless and everything to do with affecting the bottom dollar of those who allow the homeless to proliferate. They don't want them "officially" next to them, they prefer the hands-off existence of the homeless as official city policy.

They are caught in a trap of their own making. Their rhetoric has always lashed out against the conservative who would do something about the insane, the drugged and the homeless as a violation of basic human rights. When faced with the actual consequences of their own good intentions, they are completely at a loss as to how to deal with the problems with the hypocritical violation of the rights of the poor and suffering. On the other hand, they're not going to do much to alleviate the suffering when it comes into direct conflict with their very large, but well-hidden, streak of Capitalism, because Capitalists are evil, mean people who put profits before people.

Do you now get a better understanding of the vicious circle they now live in because they adopted a "better" philosophy that that of 'those deplorables in flyover country.'
