Guess How Long It's Been Since Newsom Launched His '10-Year Plan' to End Homelessness in San Francisco

Spencer Brown | December 19, 2023 10:00 AM

"I don't want to over-promise, but I also don't want to under-deliver — I want to hit the ground running."

Those were the words of then San Francisco Mayor-Elect Gavin Newsom in 2003 in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle about his plan to "aggressively" go after his administration's top priority: homelessness. Specifically, it was Newsom's "10-year plan for ending chronic homelessness and going after 'tens of millions' of new dollars in federal funding," the Chronicle explained at the time.

Seeking to differentiate himself from others who tried to address homelessness in San Francisco, Newsom said he was "committed" to solving the problem, somehow better than merely having an "interest" in solving homelessness.

Old Newsom called homelessness in San Francisco "a national disgrace" and said he'd "welcome being judged by how he approached the homelessness crisis" in four years when he'd again face voters and ultimately win with nearly 75 percent of the vote.

But it's now 2023 — a full two decades after Newsom announced his "10-year plan for ending chronic homelessness" and... he didn't. Contrary to the arrogant quote given to the Chronicle, Newsom both over-promised and under-delivered.

The rest of his failure here: https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spenc...plan-to-end-sf-homelessness-turns-20-n2632566

Like all Democrats who govern he delivers misery and failure.

The responsible thing to do is give the homeless All the drugs they want. It would be a self cleaning process. When you are homeless all you are looking for is relief not a home not a job. When they beg for money it is to get high. Give these people what they want and the problem will fix itself.

Now do the war on drugs that was so successful.

Or the war on terrorism.

when did you become a fucking idiot?

War on drugs... same solution... and I do recreational drugs. The difference is I know where the line is and I have, "all the things" so I am happy.

War on terrorism... another thread.

Mostly saying that lots of political plans exist that never make it but still go on.

Newsom isn't unique nor are Democratic plans different from Republican plans. The OP is delusional

Except we have to keep their social filth away from healthy law-abiding communities.

Interesting take on the homeless community.
They are a massive sanitation problem in our cities. Find them an abandoned military base somewhere out in the desert, turn on the air conditioning, and let them have at it. Airdrop food and toiletries in once a month and have Flying Doctors or Doctors of The World roll in and check on them every once in a while.

As I said....an interesting take.

As I've suggested they need to be segregated from normal society if they insist on living outside the laws and norms of civilized society. What needs to happen is to clean up those addicts who are willing to do so and institutionalize the rest. Normal society shouldn't be punished for the lifestyle choices of drug-addled invalids. The other thing that has to happen is low low-IQ Democrat idealists have to be removed from government.:D

Homelessness is not against the law.

But this is the exact take I knew you had - your very narrow understanding of what leads people to be homeless. But everything is binary to you....I'm sure you also think they're all leftists.

How do you not even get anything accidentally right?

The vast majority of them are drug users who are beyond giving a shit. Mostly they punctuate the streets and byways of Democrat-run terror cities.

Your narrow views aren't a positive characteristic.

lol, I'll make a little bet with you wrongway. I'll hook you up with Fentanal, say maybe to help you deal with some cronic pain. Then if you suddenly find out you're craving it,after I cut you off, I'll not subject you to what you wrote, which I have posted below.

Anyone who thinks it's as simple as choosing not to care...is probably a Republican. They do love simplistic answers.

OP who literally wants to ship homeless people off to some hidden place in the world as a solution criticizes man who literally is working to end homelessness

Didn't Trump say something almost identical to what Reichguide suggested up there? No surprise that his "idea" is as unoriginal as it is offensive.

Reichguide would have made a good Brit in the late 1700s. Send them to Australia!
