pretty planes

Just found this thread. I have a penchant for fighters, especially warbirds from the 1940s. Felt like my all-time favorite Corsair didn't get enough love, hence the bump to the front.

Some of the others I find pretty:

P-51.

F-5

I wish the F-23 had won the contract, just based on looks.

On the consumer end of things: Piper Warrior in full red. I got to "fly" one under the owner's watchful eye as a little kid, before getting my student license. Still think it is a very pretty plane.

It would have, had it been more "carrier friendly"...

Yep, the USN and US Marines didn't use it as a carrier aircraft but as a land-based fighter. However, the British did use it as a carrier-based fighter and were very successful with it.

Designed as a carrier based fighter, but the large prop made landing difficult.

Is there a pretty cars thread?

Cause if we are going to talk about aesthetically pleasing planes, it seems fitting that we should discuss other instances of beautiful mechanical/transportation engineering.

the CL-65 are making their Spring tune-up before the forest fire season. Not pretty but 'ugly' cool
