pretty planes

I heard that the Aussie crew of that C-17 got court martialed for that stunt. That was the Sidney Air show and they had to show off

Here's another Aussie crew risking their careers when they decided to show off with one of my beloved F-111Es at the Sidney Air SHow

I Googled the following:

Was the C-17 aircrew that flew amongst the buildings in Sydney court martialed?

The response:

No, the C-17 aircrew was not court-martialed.

In fact, the famous flight did not take place in Sydney, but rather in Brisbane, Australia. The maneuver was a highly planned, tightly regulated, and sanctioned official rehearsal and performance for the city's annual Brisbane Riverfire Festival.

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) crew executed the flight with full authorization. While viral internet videos often use forced perspective or telephoto compression to make it look like the massive cargo plane is dangerously dodging skyscrapers, the pilots are actually strictly following the path of the Brisbane River, maintaining safe, pre-calculated clearances from all structures.

Because the flight was an approved military demonstration practiced thoroughly in flight simulators beforehand, the aircrew faced no disciplinary action or court-martial.

As with everything on the interwebs... your milage (and research) my vary.
