pretty planes

Keep your hands inside the cockpit at ALL TIMES - YES, that even includes YOU!

A lot of people that haven't been in open cockpit airplanes really do NOT understand the force of the wind at even a relativity low airspeed. If this plane was flying along at even 115 knots, (it was probably flying faster than that) than that's like an EF 2 tornado.

115 knots = 132 mph

EF scale from the National Weather Service

1 = 86-110 mph
2 = 111-135 mph
3 = 136-165 mph
4 = 166-200 mph

F3 Tornado...much faster than 165 mph.

1674mph top speed.

^^^ Lockheed Martin's F-35 Lightning II

It was (and remains) the biggest boondoggle and clusterfuck in the history of U.S. defense contracting.

Way, way, way over budget and way, way, way late. There have been MASSIVE COST OVERRUNS.

Lockheed Martin never should have been awarded the contract. Disgusting corruption.

The Boeing X-32 JSF was a far better design.
