She is pretty.


When I was young, someone took me up in a sailplane. I remember being surprised by how loud it was in the cockpit. I had the misimpression that there would be near silence whilst gliding.




I took one of these out of the box. A fantastic ship. Beautiful curves. Conventional retract gear. The engine is amidship, behind the cockpit. You push a lever forward and the nose nacelle moves forward enough to allow the folding prop to spin for takeoff. 1000 mile range under power. 140 kn cruise.

Flying all those aircraft components to France from Germany and Britain and Spain so the politicians would permit the original formation of Airbus.

...and, no, there couldn't possibly be any government subsidies involved in this ("Elephant: A camel designed by a committee")*.

Oh, BTW— Whaddya think the carbon footprint is for this farce?

I saw the static display of this plane at CDG in Paris. I was amazed at how small the thing is.

BTW, the photo was taken while flying at Mach 2.
