Prayers Needed...

Thank you!

Cloudy, Rob, Imp, Neon, SJ, Selena, Dark-glasses, Recidiva, Dr. M, Entitled, Colleen, Svenskaflicka, Severusmax, Daniellekitten, R. Richard, Chris 44, Liar, SIMA, SeaCat, Aurora Black, Yui, Tol, Rumple... :rose:

I feel the love emanating from my screen and it does my heart good.

All day yesterday I drifted in and out of sleep. I called the doctor's office 4 times, to no avail. I STILL don't have an appointment for a CT scan. Day 17 and the headache has increased in intensity. The right side of my head feels like it is going to explode at any moment. I am out of the medication the doctor prescribed, not that it helped much.

I have to work today from 9am-6pm, there is no one to cover my shift. I'll be calling the doctor again today. I really don't think it should be taking this long to get an appointment.

I'll let y'all know what's happening as I can. I can't access this site from work, it's on the no-no list, so it'll be later tonight. Thank you for the support, the prayers, the vibes, the hugs and the love.

Have a hug from Og.

I hope it helps, and if not, that our prayers do.

Og

My thoughts and prayers are with you, but get your ass off to the emergency department of your local hospital. Tell them what you are going through and what tests they have done! Maybe that will get something done quicker!

You have my thoughts and prayers with you, Minx. Please keep us informed on how you are and what's happening. If you still haven't got hold of your doctor and have a CT scan then I suggest that you go into the ER. Some things you can take your time with when getting an appointment and others you can't.

Get Well Soon :rose:

Minx, my thoughts are with you and, to the degree that I pray, so are my prayers. My wife went through this some years ago. She went to the ER and when they did the CT scan they found a small brain tumor. It was removed a few days later and found to be benign. She had and still has a good wupport, me, her rwo sons and a dasughter. You sound like you have one too.

To repeat what the Elf and Cealy said, GO TO THE ER!! The longer you spend waiting, the worse it will get. This does NOT sound like an ordinary headache.

No, it does not.

Echo what everyone has said here.

Angel, get to the ER as soon as you are able today.

:) Thanks y'all. Great minds definitely think alike!

My fiance insisted on my going to the ER yesterday. I was able to get shift coverage at 2pm and my mother drove me to the hospital. Triage put me ahead of alot of people.

I had the CT scan within 30 minutes of arrival. 2 hours later the doctor did a spinal tap. (May I just say, "Fucking hell that hurt!") They put me on an IV with a non narcotic pain reliever, which only took the edge off.

I was released at 9pm with a prescription for Lortab and instructions to follow up with neurology ASAP. The CT scan and the spinal tap showed nothing but the doctor says there has to be an underlying cause.

I have taken 2 doses of Lortab at this point and still remain in pain, UGH. I will do whatever is necessary at this point to find the cause and the cure, no matter the cost.

Thank you all for your warm thoughts and prayers! I must go lie down now, but I will return as I can. X infinity for all of you!

~Minx

All my prayers and thoughts are with you Minxie - sounds scary.

If things don't change go back and make a fuss at ER. It's not fair, but the one's who make a fuss get the attention.

Lots of love. :rose:

You're in the thoughts and prayers of everybody, Minxie. And don't let them put you off.

Want my opinion? Go to the ER. You may have to sit there a little bit and wait, but you'll get seen a lot faster that way and it won't take 17 days. Best of luck, babydoll.

hello sweetness
fioricet is a pain killer and im sure they were hoping you just have a pretty bad migraine.
go have your ct scan. work on your cholesterol but something you should ask...
because i have this blood disorder and it carries the same symptoms and my sister had a stroke from it...
request the following
factor V leiden mutation with ancillary tests.
its new but seems to be that alot of people with migraines have some disorder of the sort. its just a simple blood test that can help you maintain good health with proper meds.

you still may just have a really super bad migraine that might take a hefty dosage of demerol/phernergan and lots of sleep to get rid of.

dont stress yet
try to find a quiet place
take your meds
let us know what happens.

Listen to the DR! She knows of what she speaks!!
My girlfriend has suffered from migrains since she was 10 yrs old. The fluctuation in hormones monthly causes at least two a month. We realized the last time she had to get a shot for it that its the demerol that causes her to be sick. This time they didnt put it in, they put something else in and she recovered much faster.
We have discussed the new testing Vella was talking about, and sure enough when she was tested her and her mom have the blood disorder, both suffer severe migrains. Now she is on new meds, and has only had minor ones since.

Good luck!

Day 19.

I believe the med level is getting up there because I seem to be able to function for small portions of the day. While my head still hurts, if I take one Lortab every 3-4 hours it doesn't pound so hard.

I finally got in touch with Neurology and I have an appointment with them April 25th. I know, it's a long way off but hell, initially they scheduled it for June 6th. I told them that wasn't acceptable, I needed to get in ASAP. My boss is covering my shifts until Monday, so I don't HAVE to work if I'm not up to it. I'm grateful for that, though I really need the money. She told me I can make up the hours next week or the week after.

My mother is caring for my daughter until later this evening, so I have a chance to rest. She's 10, y'all, and a huge help to me, but it makes my mother feel better so...

My fiance is limiting my pc time to 30 minutes right now (bless his heart), so I'm going to putter on the threads a few more minutes then it's back to bed.

Thanks Vella. I'll request the test and see what happens. My family has a strong history of migraines, so it's a good possibility.

If anyone told me to have:

factor V leiden mutation with ancillary tests

...I'd give the advice serious consideration based solely on their knowing those names. But since it comes from Vella, I would already be rolling up my sleeve. :)

You're still in our thougts and prayers, Minx. Take care.

Rumple Foreskin

Day 23... sigh.

The good news is, the pain has diminished. The bad news is, it's not gone.

I went back to work yesterday and was pleased to find that the headache had moved into the "functional" category. I have 2 tax returns on my desk, complicated in nature, which made absolutely no sense last week. Yesterday everything clicked and I was able to get them nearly finished (I still need some information from the clients). With the close of tax season coming on like a freight train I pray I don't get derailed.

Thanks for all the support, y'all! It's going to be a LONG week.

That is such great news!

It's always a relief to have something back off a little, at least you're not full bore toward disaster.

All my support and best wishes, and I hope you see a definitive end to this soon. *hugs*

Pleased to hear your progress is good, minx.

Sending strength and healing thoughts your way. And a *HUG*.

Well, after 28 days the pain finally ended. WOOHOO! I woke up on Easter morning with zero headache. Granted, I still get a headache, but it has a discernable cause AND responds to OTC medication. I'm very pleased. I will still be going to see the neurologist on the 25th to find out what happened and undergo further testing. Thanks for all of your support!
