Ok, I can't remember what the technical name is (and if I do or find out, I'll post it here) but basically, I am uncircumcised and I have a tight foreskin. Either that or a short thingamabob that attaches the foreskin to the glans. I am a virgin. My concern is that it will create problems (discomfort, pain, tearing) during sex. Does anyone have any experience with this or know more about this and could help me out?

I think phimosis is the medical term for an *unretractable* foreskin. If you are able to retract, even tho it is tight, you can *gently* practice retracting so that the skin stretches a little. Your foreskin is a GIFT and do anything you can to protect its health and well being on your body!

Search Foreskin Health to find out whatever else you might want to know.

I would say that if you don't have any trouble masturbating, you shouldn't encounter problems with sex.

Also, with a tight foreskin hygiene is extra important when you do start sharing it around as residue from sex can get trapped under it and cause infection.

Have fun ;)

Search on the internet as has been suggested. Read and think carefully about it. Keep in mind that Doctors generally will not give you enough information to make an informed decision. They trivialize the value of the foreskin.

There are accepted treatments for your condition that do not involve circumcision. Cream and gentle stretching. Be an informed patient. Good luck!

Yes, I have experience of this and it is very, very unpleasant to say the least!!!

If your foreskin becomes trapped at the base of the gland it causes a rather large and very uncomfortable 'blister' type swelling.

The remedy I had, (three times!) was for a surgeon to administer a local anaesthetic and give me what he laughingly referred to as a 'Gynaecologists handshake' as he proceeded to squeeze the painful swelling in his vice-like grip!

I was offered two soloutions;
a) A full circumcision.
b) A small incision to be made at the base of the foreskin.
Both of these, I turned down.

I had been masturbating for at least five years and never in that time did I get any indication of the problem I had. With the benefit of hindsight, this was possibly because my masturbation technique was not as vigorous as the first time there was somebody else involved in my sex life.

I echo Just_4 _Giggles and gregor2001us as this was the route that I followed and I have insisted that my two children (Now aged 12 and 14) have always gently stretched their foreskin while taking a bath.

I agree with VelvetDarkness that foreskin hygiene is extremely important, and would suggest that if you can manually retract your foreskin to clean the base of the gland, the problem may not be severe.

IMHO, and I stress that I am not medically trained, if you manually ensure the gland is covered by the foreskin after sex, I don't think you will have any difficulty enjoying a stress free sex life.
And if you forget?
It's surprising what three Gynaecologists handshake's can do for a persons memory (No matter how much alcohol is involved ;) )

Please do not allow this very common problem to affect your enjoyment of a rich and full sexlife, as that would be a far bigger difficulty to overcome.

I wish you all the best in the path of your choosing.
