Posts Per Day.

Problem Child's newbie thread got me thinking. As I was perusing the thread, I realized that not one single person posted in the pages I read who registered before me, and yet most of the non-newbies were in the 2k-5k post range.

I might break 400 posts this year (by virtue of the fact that I acquired a digital camera and have been posting in my usual hangout, the Amateur Pic Feedback section), but I might not.

On some of the other fora I frequent, there are posters with over 20,000 posts. How weird is that?

So... what's your posts-per-day ratio? And why do you post so much, or post so little?

I've just checked my profile and I make 15.07 posts per day, in truth though now its a lot lower than that, but as it is an overall rating it takes into account all the posts that I have made since I have been joined Lit.
When I first started posting I spent a lot of time posting in the a...b....c.. thread which bumped up my post tally. Now I rarely post there anymore so my average posting rate has dropped.

I suppose that it's because I don't open every thread, and sometimes I think I have nothing to really add on a particular subject. But I do my share of no brainer posting.

This will be my 8028th post. Over the course of about 2 years.

For an average of 13.61 posts per day.

I know people who have been here a year (or even less) who have more posts than me. Which would, of course, mean they average about 27 posts a day.

The trend does seem to be that when you first come here you might chalk up a 100 posts a day... but after the novelty wears off - and you realize you start repeating yourself an awful lot - your frequency cuts back. (Though some people seem to keep racking them up anyway.)

Some people made high numbers by posting lots and lots of one or two word responses or playing on the all time threads.

I've said this before, I'll probably say it many more times, I'd love to see a word count rather than a post count - I'd be surprised if I wasn't at least in the top 5.

I'm at 0.56 posts per day.

Then again, I rarely even lurk in the General Board, let alone post - I usually come by here once every few weeks to see what the story is, and then mosey on back over to the picture-taking fiesta (cameras are fun ).

I don't think a high postcount is a positive or negative in and of itself (though Wiggles, I must agree, you do have way too much time on your hands ), but you're right that post-whoring will get you to a high count pretty quickly.

I'm at about 12 posts per day... I can be found making a post or two in the evening, but most of the time I'm on late at night and making my mark here.

Tuesdays and Sundays are also days off, and it I don't have anything else better to do then I'll beb more than happy to kill time on here and boost that post per day total.

I'm at a big 2.05 posts per day. When I first started here I was up around 7 a day for the first 3 months, after that I stayed away until the beginning of this April this year.

I don't think you post as much as you use to. But, I would think that figure is low.

I would hope that you are fantasizing about more than just posting on Lit.

Im at about 15 per day because the Kiwi/Aussie thread is a place where a bunch of us contact each other most nights......Only takes a few question/answer sessions to boost up the tally....
Probably only about 5 posts to all other threads in a day...Depends how bored i am at the time..

I am at 16.62 posts per day.

However, I post in cycles...as the weather improves, it will drop.

Most of my posts are quick notes distributed here and there....

I didn't play a whole lot with the game threads, but am quick with a hello or welcome, a birthday for someone I know, or well wishes for someone struggling.

It isn't fluff. It is sincere.

Hmmmm some of the other threads recently made me want to say that.

My post totals average right now is 15.76
Much lower than it was a few months back.

I just post everywhere and anywhere I feel like it at the time.
