Okay, so I need some new porn. And there are like five bizillion porn videos out there so it makes it hard to find anything good. I figured who better to give me recommendations for the good stuff than a bunch of perverts. So, what I am looking for is primarily videos/dvds that can be bought online at a reasonable price and/or erotica collectiion/anthology type books with lots of good stories. For the videos, I would really really really love lots of threesome or group scenes (of any variety) cuz that seems to be where I get off the most. I don't need lots of plot or girly stuff, either. Anyone have recommendations of their favorites???
My own collection is quite pitiful so don't worry about repeating something I already have.

I've seen some, but not enough to have real recommendations.

I will say, however, that the new movie "Pirates" is getting great press and is touted for it's quality (and actual plot). I'm tempted to buy it just to vote with my wallet for more such films.

Now, there's a bunch of free shit downloadable from LimeWire ... not that I've ever done that, either.

ETA: Apparently, there's enough of a buzz about "Pirates" that an R-rated version is being released. You can pre-order it on Amazon.

Your best bet would be to go to some of the more commonly mainstream companies' websites. Places like Vivid, Excalibur Films, EvilAngel, etc...might be a good choice to start a search from since they're well established and might be better to do business with. Video Age and Adam&Eve are dealers to look at also.

And I might be totally out of touch, too. Been forever since I bought anything like that. (Not counting some Swedish Erotica DVDs from a shop in Manhattan back in January. *g*)

I'm super picky about movies, so none of mine are really in the "affordable" catagory. Visual stuff doesn't work that well for me, so if I'm going to watch, i want it to be VERY pretty.

Anthologies, however...THOSE I've got.

Two books edited by Carole Queen -- Best Bisexual Erotica 1 and 2 have some of my favorite stories. I'm also a big fan of the Best American Erotica anthologies, as each year I find at least 2 stories in the anthology that really trips my triggers and makes me want to write again...as soon as I can actually use my hands to TYPE.

Those two tend to carry stories ranging all over the place, so there's likely to be something that works for you. The BAE has been around since the early 1990's so chances are you can find used editions for shipping cost or near to it.

I can recommend a terrific source of girl-girl videos: Girlfriends Films. They only do lesbian.

Most visual porn makes me feel kind of icky and exploitative, but the stuff from Girlfriends make me feel like, were I one of the women on the screen, I would be proud to have created something beautiful.

A lot of good choices are ones that feature scenes with a particular porn star. For example, I like the "Deep Inside" series from Vivid. IMO, it has a great collection of top-notch porn from favorite actresses. Just a thought, if you have any favorites already.

Another good choice is amateur porn. It might not be as high-quality, but it's often more real.

Failing that, a good choice would be to look for a certain director. Jim Holiday is my favorite. He knows his stuff, through and through. Jill Kelly used to work with him and now produces her own stuff. She's great too.

And if what Roxanne says about these "real bi or lesbian" movies is true, they sound particularly visionary. Always nice to get a different twist or angle on porn videos, in case you get bored. And, let's face it, old porn gets boring fast.

My all-time favorite is one from the early 70s -- usually available as a "classic" at the adult video outlets -- starring Marilyn Chambers in "Beyond the Green Door." If you've seen it, it's probably lurking in the back of your mind as one of the best y ou've watched. If not ...

Zazel: The Scent of Love: It's a very tastefully done porno, with great costumes, sets, beautiful people and the whole nine. They've got man/woman, group (women and men), solo, double penetration and more. It's hot as well as artistic.

Idiot camera operators (or directors) who give verbal directions, talk to the women, blurt out how hot the action is, etc.(again, more leeway granted if they're female.)
Obviously fake orgasms.
Women who aren't really into what they're doing.
Dubbed in dialogue, moans, etc.


Anyone who has watched any amount of mainstream porn, hetero or homo, will recognize many of these "don't like" items. The purpose of this post it to say, it doesn't have to be that way, and you are correct to find most of it seamy and unappetizing.
