I Abandon Soo Many Stories

For the uninitiated, SamBomb's writing is excellent. I'm a fan, and I've read them all (except their most recent because I've been busy almost finishing a story of my own).

Thank you! That's so sweet.

A new one comes out tomorrow, and part two is submitted.

I abandon stories because I struggle to edit them anything more than superficially. I have to use my mobile device for input: shared family IT makes it risky to use the computers. Pain in the r's, and makes the writing quality much lower than I'd like. Think I'm going to spend a lot more time on advance planning in future.

I have nuked scenes that aren’t coming together or that I thought later weren’t that good, or someone I had read it to check for realistic issues said it was wrong, but I can’t remember a time where I started with an idea and then abandoned it without intending to go back.

Well, this author sure as hell isn't abandoning their stories.

Now this is what productivity looks like ;)

I have so many ideas. I'll then start a story, get a chapter or few in and either lose interest or realize I'm not good enough to write that particular story or just can't figure out how.

It may even be a 4 to 1 ratio of stuff I start to start I publish.

Is this normal or am I just really bad or unfocussed?

I have a few that I have abandoned and then gone back to with fresh eyes and finished them.

I'm currently working on one that I gave up on years ago and trying to find the original inspiration.

I can relate to the lose interest, or not sure how to write what I want the story to say. And often if I go back to with a clear mind the path will suddenly become obvious.

Good luck!

It's just a dump from their Patreon to a bunch of series that haven't been updated here since last year.
