How do you handle negative feedback and Kink pushback from readers?

Exactly. How many times do you to write, 'whap, whap, whap' to get the point across? Some people have to have every detail of the exchange spelled out. Personally, the humiliation factor the character feels from having submit to another's will is the kink.
I don't mind negative comments. I do not go out of my way to aggravate readers like a few of the authors here seem to enjoy. I want to tell the story the best I can. I want it to be interesting and follow a logical sequence. When I miss the boat, I don't mind being called out on it.
I also see a lot of comments from those who get involved in the story line or with the characters. That means you connected with your audience. Some readers love to analyze the characters. "What a bitch the FMC was! She was stupid to not understand the man she was married to for twenty years." That is a good comment. It was probably what you intended to communicate.
I simply ignore those who simply tell me I should go shoot myself, quit writing, or as in a few cases, develop prostate cancer and die. (I don't delete comments either.)

I got pushback from someone about my story from last week, which was my first BDSM categorized story. The main character was a dominatrix as her side job and the storyline is about trying to live in two worlds for her. The story includes descriptions of four sessions with Mistress Natasha. The first one is the only one that featured spanking. My commenter complained that the story did not have enough spanking. I guess between including the tag and starting the story off with a spanking scene, he felt misled.

So I guess my question is:
How do you handle criticism when it’s not just “I didn’t like this,” but “You shouldn’t have written this kink, you should stick to this kink”?
Do you factor in reader preferences when deciding what to write next? Or just follow your gut and accept that some people will drop off?

I write what I write, and hope that some readers will like it. Or rather, I hope that lots of readers will like it. However, no feedback or comments I've received has ever altered the next part of a story. What's in my head and bursting to get out is created entirely in there, and I can't write that person's thing for them.
