I'm a big fan of butt plugs, I find them to be a really fun way to spice up both foreplay and solo-play, as well as sneaking a bit of fun into dull day to day activities.

However in my (admittedly short) time in the world of kink I don't see them being used very often in BDSM play. At parties I've never spotted someone wearing them (dominant or submissive) and I don't often see them used in stories or scenes.

I was wondering if there are any people out there, on either end of the flogger, that use butt plugs in their play? If so I'd love to hear how you put them to use, what types you prefer and so on.

Looking forward to hearing from people, hopefully I can glean some ways to put my ever-expanding collection to good use

Plugs are very common in kink play. Tails of various types and jewelled I'd suggest are the most commonly represented. I've seen numerous stories where a butt plug is used, the detailed description of the style and feeling might be missing but in BDSM, Anal and even Non Consent plugs often feature

I see a lot of talk about them when it comes to introducing anal play, similar to anal beads, however they seem to take a sideline in more hardcore activities.

I'm curious about some more creative ways they can be inserted (pun intended) into BDSM activities. For example I recently discussed the concept of using a plug attached to a chain leash as a replacement for typical collar/cock ring mounting points when leading subs around.

Just look at the images and gifs in the cafe. There are numerous hooks including hooks with leashes. Rigging with plugs or hooks, fucking with plugs in situate, fucking with the plug.

I'm not totally sure if you're asking an honest question and you have missed the epic link between written and visual porn and butt plugs or if you're very cackhandedly trying to get some stranger to give you instructions on butt play to get you off. If it's the first I'd look through the threads in the BDSM cafe, if it's the latter dont be that twat.

Ever use an inflatable butt plug? Sissy was placed in spread with arms and legs to a different point of table. Hood was placed with ear covers (no sound allowed), eye covers (no sight) and penis gag in place. An inflatable butt plug inserted and pumped up. After a while the plug was pumped up a little more and then after another while the plug was deflated. This went on for several times each time one more pump of the plug was added, the final time the plug was pumped several times. I have used them through the years in different ways. What is obvious to me is that the person (sum for my experience) has to have a desire for anal play/sex. It may seem obvious but it is always important to cover all the basis.

1) I use plugs to train my sub/slave for anal play/usage. If she has never had anal sex then you normally train her in smaller to larger plugs. So to use them as play, they offer two uses. a) they help open up her anal cavity for use.. so she has less serious pain when ready for actual play and b, she can enjoy... other aspects.. like having to work all day in an office job wearing a smaller plug with everyone around her unknowing of her challenging situation. This can have multiple effects on my submissive. Humiliation possibly because her mind wonders all day long if anyone can tell she is plugged. As well as the feeling she is being anally fucked all day long. Knowing that they are happily obeying their Dom/Domme... etc etc.

2) then there is play. YES! More than a few times having your female partner wear a plug during sex gives her the feeling of being double penetrated. I have recently bought myself an anal balloon (it was on sale, got curious) but it's maximum diameter is pretty small since it has very little initial girth. Below my capacity but it is certainly a new sensation with the expansion.

In terms of what you describe the combination of sensory deprivation with anal play definitely sounds enticing. Pax mentioned his use of plugs for preparing himself for pegging, was this a similar goal with you or just for it's own sake?

I've been particularly curious about extended wear however I've seen a lot of conflicting information about the safety of doing so. Currently I'm following some advice from a plug manufacturer and slowly building up sessions in half-hour increments. I definitely like the secretive nature of being plugged in public, recently I achieve this by going for a walk around the local park while plugged. Doing things like that under instruction from a domme would definitely be appealing.

The broad range plug types has definitely stimulated my curiosity for their potential applications in a D/s context. Speaking of jewels I've been quite frustrated that all the basic metal plugs on the market have jewelled bases. I'm looking for a metal one for extended wear (I'm told they're best since they can have very narrow stems and are more weighty) but haven't been able to find one with a t-bar/anchor base. If anyone knows of where I could get one like this I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

To me plugs have always been more of a solo thing or used during intercourse, and I've never really associated them with bdsm play. It's never been about stretching or training, either, although I do enjoy the feeling of things being ever so slightly bigger than what is comfortable. Plugs are just a fun sensation to have at times

For prolonged wear, I recommend carrying lube with you and reapplying a time or two throughout the day. Also depending on the base of the plug, it might start rubbing you the wrong way if you wear it long and move around, so lube might be needed for that as well

My experience with heavy plugs is, as the sphincter relaxes to accommodate the plug, it becomes difficult to retain the plug, and it falls out. Dropping the plug provides opportunity for punishment. Fun times.

You bring up an excellent point. extended wear can be perfectly safe. Like every erotic toy the comfort level of the toy while being used is key and that is based on the individual person. If it starts to cause even the smallest amount of bleeding disuse immediately. Ive had some subs wear them for up to 8 or so hours with no ill effects. Ive had some sleep in them and be fine. MY favorite type. Is the Vib plugs. and even better the ones I can remote control from a distance. Imagine working all day and never having control of when it will start to vibrate... lots of fun for both I promise you

MD: My current collection doesn't challenge me too much, however some articles I read mentioned potential tissue damage around the sphincter if one rushes extended wear. Yeah... no matter what the material or how clean you keep it... sharing Plugs is very much discouraged. Even if only one person used it in a relationship... when the relationship ends you might as well them them keep it, because the next one, more often than not, will not be crazy about using one that has been in someone else.

Oh you misunderstand me. Absolutely, there are materials that are completely acceptable scientifically, to clean/disinfect/sanitize and re-use. But its the mental concept of using a plug that had been used in someone else that is the problem
