Views on politics and religion differ.

Well, enough said about that, sorry I droned on.

Where was I, oh yea, frito pie.

Everbody makes it different, tonight I made some, that if I say so myself, which I do, was slobberlistically good, my doggie agreed, he got some.

Now it was an experimentation, something you should never try at home, or at least not in the kitchen, but since I done it and proved it was safe you can do it.

Put some water on to boil and pre-heat oven while you is getting supplies and shit. Start browning 11/4 lb. ground beef, a little more is ok.

Peel and chop up into large diced chunks 3 humongus potatoes, I had big ones, you can use more smaller ones, but make the diced chunks big cause we are gonna use lots of cheese.

Throw the potatoes on to boil in the water for 15 minutes, don't stir or do nothing to them.

Drain the ground beef after browning, throw in some chili powder, a small can of tomato sauce, some onoin, a can of stewed tomatoes and 2 globbering tablespoons of salsa.

Heat till it sizzles.

Get a big casserole dish, spray with the no-stickie stuff. Drain the potatoes and make a layer of meat stuff and potatoes, sprinkle on shedded cheese, then more meat and potatoes, a can or ranch style beans, and more shredded cheese.

Bake 10 to 15 minutes until starting to brown.

The idea is to pour it over some fritos, but it was so good I blew off the fritos.

Enjoy.

Here we are, 2 weeks into the new year and you've already wrapped up thread title of the year honors. Congratulations. :D

It sounds delicious (although I'm thinking Ritz crackers instead of Fritos).

Well, I was making it to pour over fritos, but I guess you could pour it over ritz crackers, but I dunno what you would call it then.

It does sound kinda nice, and I think I have some ritz crackers.

My sister makes brocoli with cheese, covered with Ritz crackers, then baked. It's ridiculously good. Fritos have never been my personal favorite chip. Now if you had Bugles....MMMmmmmmm.......

Weeeeeel,

Bugles pie?

Bugles pie.

Hey, it works for me.

Substitute Bugles for fritos for delicious Bugles pie.

Sounds like one of my favorites, taco soup. :)

(I know, it just sounds wrong, but it's great)

I always have tortilla or corn chips in chili. In addition to corn and bean being complimentary proteins, it's delicious, and the wonderful, salty crunch they add is just perfect. In fact, I load up a bowl of chili with almost equal parts chips, slightly crunched up. That makes it kind of a "frito pie."

It's not only good, it's ridiculously easy:

1 lb ground beef, cooked
1 large onion, chopped
1 can rotel
1 can whole kernal corn
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix

Dump it all in a pot (no need to drain the canned stuff), let it simmer for about 30 minutes, then serve over fritos and top with cheese.

I cannot remember the last time I had Frito chili pie.

I think I know what we're gonna make for dinner tinight.

I have a very similar recipe that everybody likes but uses pound of ground beef, can of cheese soup undiluted, half a bag of Ore Ida potatoes obrien and a can of kidney beans. Fry the the hamburg and add half the soup and the kidney beans. Add the rest of the soup to the potatoes obrien. In a casserole dish spread half the potatoes and soup, then put in the beans and beef mix then the rest of the potatoes and soup. Bake at about 375 until browned. Very tasty. See, sounds very similar. Oh, there's something about parsley flakes but who cares.
