I'm weepy and insecure and tempermental and bitchy. Was I such a bad child that this is my lifetime curse? What is the point of hormone fluctuations? Why can't hormones do their job withOUT the emotional side effects??

I can't decide whether to crawl into bed and cry or pick up my hairbrush and throw it across the room!

Why not do both? *hugs*

So, how many women with PMS does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

One. And only one. And you know why? Cause no one in this fucking house does anything. We could sit around for days in the fucking dark, and STILL no one would change the lightbulb. We'd just sit in the dark, throwing trash on the ground, cause god knows that no one's gonna clean up after themselves either. So we'd just sit in the dark, trash on the ground, until FINALLY I'd drag a chair over and change the fucking light bulb. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON WHO CHANGES THE TOILET PAPER ROLL!

I'm sorry, what was the question?

Yup yup. My body is apparently getting back at me for doing things as humans were biologically designed to do them. Between pregnancies and nursing, I only had seven complete cycles in 10 years. Which is excellent from a lowering the risks of ever getting cervical or breat cancer standpoint; however, it also apparently threw my hormonal balance WAY out of wack.

My midwife suggested chasteberry- she said a 4-6 month cycle of it (3-4 capsules a day) should rebalance my estrogen levels/emotional issues related to the imbalance (in theory), but I've not been able to try it yet.

i agree soo much! i so thankful that my Sir gives me a little leeway during the week of my period and a few days before. not that i dont have to respect him or anything, but its nice that he understands.

Are you trying to tease a woman suffering PMS?? That's an unwise move ... NOTHING is funny or cutsie to a girl during these days

Weighing the options of dealing with the pill vs having a bout of PMS and periods from hell every 3 weeks..I finally started taking Seasonale. It is taken daily and you have a period every three months. When I refilled my Rx this last time, I skipped the week of placebo pills and kept on going. So, I have been PMS and period free for 5 months now. So far, the benefits have far outweighed the negatives.

How is that? I need to get back on the pill but I hate the libido effects they sometimes have and the dreaded weight gain.

My major complaints are that I pass out from exhaustion and my tits feel like they are in a vise.

ok I may not be the most pleasant person to be around.

Not that I'm ever the most pleasant person to be around.

Actually what I hate most about PMS and my actual period is that the symptoms are similar to what happens when I'm about to have a flare, so once a month I'm scared. I think probably I'm more easily scared cause of the hormones and all.

I hate that.

Throw your hairbrush and then crawl into bed and cry...works for me :)

haaa, I'm referencing a game where there's a unit called a Pitbull.

And I doubt that, Aeroil is more than Nothing, you'd have to have a hollow tin chest to not find him cute.

The Seasonale has not affected my libido at all. To be fair though, I am newly exploring BDSM so I'm in a high energy state anyway. As for the weight, I have been working hard to get some extra weight off, and had started that before I went on the Seasonale. I'm not a good control for this study! LOL

I am doing the same for all intents and purposes. I am using Yasmin and skipping the weeks off to mimic Seasonale because Anya, Canada's version, is not approved yet. I'm on this to reduce periods because I have iron deficiency anemia that's been a devil to control. I agreed to three a year, but that can change.
I spotted until my first period. Other than that it's been great. I get a little bloated the week before my period would be but only a little compared to before. I don't notice any PMS symptoms per se, so they're not pronounced. It's really working and if my libido suffered it was only temporary. I don't think it did, though.
