Yes. And I heard the dialing comonig from my comp, while I was looking at porn, so I'm pretty damn sure that's the cause of it. How they are fucking with me without the computer being connected to the phone or the phones being hooked up I have no idea.

THe whole thing is Satan. Tomorrow I'm going to tell my aunt what happened, and see about calling the phone company and find out what else is going to happen. At the worst I have to pay them back the money for repairs or phone charges or whatever.

Seriously there seems to be a rampage of dodgy porn autodialers on the loose lately. When I'm home next week I have to track down some on two computers that apparentally work even while the computer is off. My dad is rather unimpressed, especially considering it isn't him who's been looking at the porn to get the autodialer installed by accident.

Have you checked the modem settings to see if you can at least find the autodialler, I know dad ran into it when I talked him through it the other day, but apart from getting international call access cut off from the modem line, I cant guarantee anything really... When I get home next week I'm gonna have to look at it, meanwhile dad got hit with a 3k phone bill on one line.

Rip the modem line out of the computer (no, not the cable modem) and call the phone company in the morning, attack that end while looking through the modem settings, also check your files for anything updated since you got on tonight... might see an exe or zip file that came in under your guard that you can track back. Let me know how it goes.

May I venture to say this?: don't use porn autodialers. There are millions of better options (free porn, good websites, ordering VHS, VCD, DVD, CD...)

Find a good ISP if you want to use the modem. or try faxing/calling people.

I would never buy software from the people that make porn.

You miss the point... you look at free porn websites, and like those fucking annoying popups... they have autodiallers that come down trying to get money in through the backdoor.

Go into device manager and disable the dialup modem

If you're on cable, you don't need it.

Have you done an msconfig to identify the autodialer? Once you identify it, the removal usually involves cleaning your temp internet files, removing it from start up, and a regedit for good measure. This site will help you identify anything suspicious in your startup:
