Just joined, and want to write my first story here. My question is, can I just type the story into the box, and then post it? Or do I have to do something else? I really dont have a clue, about all that word doc, and text file stuff.

I know it may seem weird, for someone interested in writing stories, not knowing how computers work. But I dont. I just have a really good imagination, and would like to write some of it down. Any help would be appreaciated, Thanks!

1. Type your story into your word processor.

2. Do a spell check on it.

3. Do a grammar check on it.

4. Let it sit for a couple days and then reread it. Make all necessary changes.

5. Go here (http://www.literotica.com/stories/) and click on the SUBMIT button.

6. Follow the directions.

Good luck.

Second the motion

cymbidia knows what she's saying, but I want to amplify on one of the details. This is true for anybody, but the less you know about computers the more I urge you to observe it - write it in another place, do NOT attempt to simply "type it in" here. You may not need, or use, all the tools but you cannot possibly do justice to your effort if you try to edit your work in a web-form.

The sub-text would be, all work needs to be edited, as in re-read later. You are bound to find things you want to correct and/or adjust.

I second Cymbidia's advice as well. Also Lukkyknight's too. However, I would also add one more thing.

I love to write, and am currently working on my 3rd and 4th stories for Lit. I've been told I write well, but I made use of the volunteer editors that Lit has available here. I highly recommend them! Some will proof your work only for grammar and spelling (you would be surprised at how much a spell check and/or grammar check can miss.), others will proof your story for readability.

Both are good to have. You can be sure your spelling and grammar is correct, and you can have at least one person's opinion on whether your story is readable, makes sense, or may need areas of improvement. So far, all editors that I have used that have responded have been kind, courteous, and helpful in their corrections and advice.

If you use the editors, select a minimum of 3 - guranteed that at least one will not respond for some reason. The ones that I have used have all returned a response to me within a couple of days - and one of my stories was submitted to them over a holiday weekend. These folks are priceless jewels here at Lit. I would recommend utilizing their services.
