Most of us not in NYC or DC will probably be going to school and work today. Please remember to tell your family you love them.

Last night as my 10 year old went to bed, she stopped and came back to her dad and I and asked if we were safe because we are in Texas. We hugged her and told her yes that it was safe to go to bed.

I know in my heart after yesterday no one is safe, but I need and want her to be a child a while longer, so I will make sure I tell my family more often that I love them.

Give your loved ones hugs this morning, so the healing can begin.

It's wierd to see all this for me....since i live in London I've become used to terrorist threats and bomb attacks; they used to happen very frequently although recently not as much.....but with a tragedy like this it starts to cloud my thinking once again. Apparently it's quiet like hell in the city today; i'm not surprised.

I was having a drink near Liverpool Street in the City last night. I didn't enjoy it very much - there was definitely a sense of tension and bewilderment in the air.

I spent the night randomly walking around campus, into and out of the chapel, praying, waiting till 5 AM so I could get a paper, and then reading all the papers I could get my hands on.

I'm still not quite over this, never will be, but....***** goes on. It has to, I suppose.

I agree with all of ya'll who hugged your loved ones today. I hugged my husband before I left for work and thought to myself how lucky we are. We live in Arkansas, and my heart goes out to the people in DC and NYC.

On a different note: ShyLady, how did you do that cool banner with your name at the end of your posts? I've never seen anything like it.
