So it would not have to be completed before placing it in the novellas? Submit it piece by piece as it goes along?

There are several pieces in that category that are incomplete.

We have discussed this scenario before. There are pros and cons for each decision.

Novels and Novellas:
FOR: You don't have to specify the category that each section would otherwise have gone into e.g. Romance, Erotic Couplings, Non-Erotic.
The whole story is together and if you are absolutely precise with your titling the whole thing will appear in the right order. You must start with Ch.01 if there will, or might, be more than 9 chapters otherwise chapters 10 to 19 will precede chapter 2.
AGAINST: Few readers are likely to read the whole thing. Views and votes after Ch.01 are likely to drop significantly.
If a part would otherwise be in Incest or Erotic Horror you could annoy potential readers.

Putting each part in the appropriate Category:
FOR: Each chapter will be in the right place to attract readers of that category and you will get more views for that chapter.
AGAINST: Readers have to go to your list of works to find the next (or previous) chapter. That is fairly easy but may deter some.
Each Chapter should be self-sufficent and be capable of being read as an entity without the chapters before and after it. That can be difficult and inconvenient to achieve.

OR -
You could wait until you have written the whole thing, no matter how long it is and post it as an entity either in Novels and Novellas or in the category that is most appropriate for the whole work. If over 50,000 words I would recommend Novels and Novellas because readers of that category tend to have more stamina.

Conclusion: Whatever you do will be wrong in some respects. You can't win with a long piece.

I do recommend that you never swap out of category. I did a four part story which I put in Anal. On a whim, you understand. I'm not anally perverted or anything, heaven forfend.

BUT I put Chapter 2 in Erotic Couplings, because, on the whole, I thought it might belong there.

People do not follow a story across categories very well, is my conclusion.
