Pink Orchid 2023: Story Event for Women-Centric Erotica - Official Support Thread

It's odd. The story is tagged with "pink orchid 2023" but I haven't been able to find it by doing a tag search for "pink orchid 2023." Maybe it'll appear on the event page or maybe not (its publication date is not in the event window), but it still seems like it should appear in the tag search.
This is a revision, with the earlier version published last April, so that may affect how this goes. I hope the story is included in the final list on March 8, but otherwise I'm not much concerned.

I'm not sure of the details but I think until the challenge is complete you need to use the link RobRoy quoted ^^

It's showing up on a tag search now.

My story published 2 days ago, was first story on that days posts which was a first for me and seems to have resulted in more reads.
A few low scores initially but has slowly climbed up in the voting which is always nice.
Thanks Omenainen for organising it

I'll check it out tonight!
I've read all the stories to this point and I was very impressed with all of them. Some very solid writing while avoiding the cliché stories. Win, win.

Mine's written but I have a little more work to do on it. The first half is in good shape, and the last third is close--except for the closing. What's in between needs more effort.

I think the event theme makes you discard a lot of clichés. That's one of the good things about it.

@Omenainen thank you so much for the very nice comment on my story. At 20k word's it's a bit of a slog to get through, but I've very glad you liked it. As for my "style" when it comes to the sex scenes, well that's just my male reptilian brain getting to finally stretch its creative legs.

I've finally figured out what I'm writing for this. The real trick is in avoiding femdom I've decided to try and write female submission as a playful, fulfilling, empowering experience instead of the usual cliches. We'll see how successful I am!

Looking forward to participating in my first Lit event!

Mine's in. "Hit me harder!" and it's going in mature.

Oh, and it's not a BDSM story. Well, maybe a tiny bit of whipping happens...

Yeah, nah, definitely my fault. A few beers and caution went out the window.

Ah well, I'm still alive so that's something, but she'll hold it over me forever. Never piss off a redhead of Irish/Scottish descent.

Determined to finish my draft today. It's a lengthy story (for me, anyway -- we're at 10k and about two-thirds done, MAYbe) and it needs some slimming down, just because it really doesn't need to be this long. So the edit will be a bigger process than my usual, and I'll feel better if I can churn out a completed rough draft to work on.

Your comment on my work was kind and true. I'll be back trying to do better, and I welcome any honest comment, even if you have to tell me I still didn't get it.

My comment on your work? Oh, you mean last year? I had a momentary confusion and went to look if you posted something and I commented and then forgot 😁

This year I let people opt in if they want my comments, because apparently I should be polite and I’m not well equipped for that.

Also, all this year’s Pink Orchid stories that come up with the tag search are now hot! That’s a fleeting thing, but it sure is nice to see.

Was getting stressed because I thought the deadline was 22 Jan, but it isn't. I have two stories each about 2/3 or 3/4 done, but I can't get either one to a complete draft - I keep adding a sentence or two to one, then the other. One I'm fine with the structure, but the other would benefit from some other eyes in due course.

Sorry I was unclear. Also, I just reread some of my work from a year ago. I tagged three stories (well, two parts of a multi-part, and a free-standing story). The free-standing one should not have been tagged for Pink Orchid, but you were kind and polite even about that one.
I've been procrastinating for more than a day now, and you've given me a reason to continue: go read all those stories and support them.
