Phone Geeks!

I'm buying a new phone when my plan expires next month. I might get the LG V10. It's the first smartphone I've seen with a decent DAC built in. I'll have to give it a listen though with a pair of quality headphones to see if it's up to snuff, but reviews have been promising.

Does the G5 have the same DAC? The lady at the phone shop almost talked me into one the other day.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha is my day to day phone.

Love it. My phone has a 4.7 inch screen and I like the size. Same horse power to Galaxy S5 . Same camera. Lower quality screen but at this scale one can't tell.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7. Tablet. I can seamlessly transfer info phone to tablet.

I have a 5 year old laptop when I neeed to use a computer. Office work reports ect.

Use ATT 4G/LTE.

I have the OnePlus One as my daily phone. I use the original Google G1 (the first ever Android phone) as my spam phone whenever I need to give a number to a company or website. It's also my backup alarm clock.

I have a Kindle Fire HD and an LG Gpad for tablets. The Fire gets the most use as it's a handy size for inside a jacket pocket as a book reader.

The OnePlus3 is out soon.

I'm also looking at the Nextbit Robin. Unlocked and shipped with Android 6.0.

Interesting concept;

You don’t run out of storage. By merging cloud and onboard storage, Robin seamlessly backs up your apps and photos. When you need space it intelligently archives the stuff you’re not using. And if you ever want anything back you can easily restore items when you need them. Robin does this all automatically, so you never have to worry. And Robin does this in a way that won’t drain your battery or eat up your wireless data. Plus, it looks pretty great.

iPhone 5 piece of crap which I will never buy another Apple product again, for my only phone.. home/business/mobile.

Samsung Chromebook for my porn terminal.

Two different beasts though slowly merging features. The Roku has apps you add to it and stream that way, like a phone. The Chromecast you send content from your phone/pc/tablet to it -- so it does nothing by itself.

...

Thanks. Have been digging into it.

Unfortunately no. It's pretty ok, but not on that level. Instead, premium audio is in one of those extra modules they sell. Hi-fi Plus I think it's called.

The note is too big for me. It's like holding a tablet up to your ear.

Bluetooth. I like the jabra mini.

Possibly because I use disposable-grade phones, sound quality on smart phones is horrible.

Am I the only one here who loves Note phones?

Nope. Those are seriously Garde-A artillery.

Lemme know if you have any questions, I'll try to help. :)

Cool. Look forward to hearing how it all works out if you grab one.

I love my Note 5. I don't use it as a phone that often but I love the weight, the feel, the heft of it in my hands. After getting used to it, every time I pick up my husband's S4 now I am a bit surprised at how light the S4 is.

My life is pretty much run by my phone so I like having something that multitasks like crazy and has a nice chunk of screen real estate for me to play on, too.

I bought the Moto X (2nd Gen) just to play around with. Comes with pure Android and has the specs I want for another backup. I decided to sell one of the S5's and the damn UMI which won't work on the AT&T USofA Network.

I gave LTR an Xperia Z2 last year and she had the same problem with AT&T.

My favourite iPhone app.

Take your work supplied 1st gen iPhone, liberally dunk it in the trout stream you're fishing when the damn thing won't stop notifying you about iTunes, work, Facebook, alleged work crisis, and your aunt in California that is STILL spamming your Facebook wall...

Admire it's construction...as you tear it apart. They really are well put together. Shame everything about Apple sucks donkey balls unless you're a wannabe hipster addicted to social media. Their screens do suck.

Scavenge the pieces with a sharp pair of fine scissors, a little thread & head cement. Voila, the iFly!

Guess it was too complicated for you to turn off the notifications.

Porkwarrior, I'm calling Shenanigans.

First, There's no way that anyone would believe that you have a job that involves having a corporate cellphone. Second, here's the origin of the stolen story/pics.

That's pretty great work!

I haven't had a Moto since the Razr and just from dicking around with my Moto X, I think the G4+ is gonna be sick.

I just tried it out the other day. It's pretty neat. It doesn't have the performance of, say, a Galaxy S7, but it has all the right features and none of the bullshit, for a slim pricetag.

If you can abide by the format, it's a 5.5 inch screen and pretty hefty to hold. Not heavy, but big.

Ended up with a Roku. There's some crazy stuff on there!

Never a bad choice. No real hacks but google "private roku channels" for some fun.

My Honor 5X has that premium feel of the S7. As a die hard Samsung guy, I'm not shelling out $700 for a phone when I can get what I got plus the G4+ for half the price. I'm done with all the bloat between them and AT&T.

I went with HTC 10 btw. Another one with a quality DAC and HR audio support. And not as stupidly large as the LG V10.

Good choice from what I've read it's a solid machine.
