Phone Geeks!

ROTFL. You have no idea how often I heard that from corporate clients crying because all their shit was gone and they couldn't get it back.

My iPhone survived my car accident last December, my iPad did not.

I bought a replacement iPad a week later and reinstalled from backup. Took me about an hour and a half, but I had a shit-ton of apps and quite a bit of data on iCloud.

Plot Twist: I'm not an Apple fanboy.

How I surf Lit:
  • Phone: Samsung S7 Edge
  • Tablet: Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 (about to be replaced)
  • Kickass gaming pc
  • other PCs around the house that take leftover parts (4)

Oops, I forgot to add I just got a Kindle Voyage - to force myself just to read and not surf/Skype.

Have a few Chromecast, but now I just use Amazon Fire box thing.

That's a nice collection.

Yeah, that reminds why that clown is on the ig. The backup is mainly for the battery, ffs.

Me neither. I use Helium on the 'droid, it backs up fucking EVERYTHING.

He's on my iggy too, but I couldn't resist viewing post after his hilarious claim in the other thread that Macs don't get malware.

As far as Android goes, I have an S6. Otherwise I have a Kindle Fire that I've used twice in the last year, and an HP Pavillion Touchsmart that I use every day without fail. It's a beautiful laptop.

I will be getting an iphone soon. There is an app available on it that is not available on the droid.

I have had a mac mini for a long long time. It is bulletproof. The change should be relatively easy.

Plus, Lance said only real men have iphones. I will now be invited to the club.

That's true. I got my very own penis with my first iPhone.

So thats the reason no one believes that I am a man?

I need a friggin' iphone?

I use a 6 plus.

It's okay, but already had to replace it once. Was still warrantied.

I was referring to his backup phone, not backups in general. My iPhone automatically makes a backup whenever I turn on iTunes & sync it.

Also, I never said macs never get malware. I said I've never had any problems with malware & viruses. That includes the 20+ macs in the art department I've worked at for over 18 years. Also, over the years, I've convinced a dozen friends & relatives to switch over and never heard any complaints about viruses and malware with their macs. Prior to switching, I remember plenty of complaints & gripes from them about viruses & malware when they were PC users.

The only issue I can remember is a cousin that was fooled by a phishing email that she thought came from Facebook. That happened five years ago.

I'm honestly amazed that people still buy PCs with the amount of viruses & malware that targets them.

Because we want to do more than browse Facebook and change the saturation on photos silly.

I got a 6S...everyone told me I just HAVE to join the 21st century and get a smart phone.

I have no idea why...I never use the fucking thing or it's 110 dollar a month data package.

I want my 20 dollar a month brick back :(

I guess having GPS/nav is nice....99% of the time I only drive the same 4 damn roads though.

The majority of computer users don't, actually.

:)

And id put the specs of my laptop against any company PC that you're going to see used for any real work-related purposes.

That's not a made up fact. You're more than welcome. You seem to be confusing RAM and power with utility and ease.

I'm buying a new phone when my plan expires next month. I might get the LG V10. It's the first smartphone I've seen with a decent DAC built in. I'll have to give it a listen though with a pair of quality headphones to see if it's up to snuff, but reviews have been promising.

LG flip phone here, does what a phone is supposed to do.

Your reply made me a little curious so I decided to download Malwarebytes, which is a free spyware/malware scanner for macs. I ran it on my 17" macbook pro, which I've been consistently using for six years now. (Still runs like a champ btw.) Never had any apps like Norton, etc. installed on it.

The Malwarebytes scan found absolutely nothing. No spyware, no malware, no nothing. And I reiterate...SIX FUCKING YEARS!!! You'd think I would have caught at least one by now. I go online daily and yet...zero malware.

On another note, I was thinking about upgrading it with 1TB SSD & doubling the ram.

Update

The T-Mobile-plugged "Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime DUOS 8GB Factory Unlocked GSM Smartphone -International Version", our first smartphone, to be used primarily as a WiFi hotspot, arrived yesterday, as did a slew of unrelated problems. Aargh. I'm having great trouble getting it registered on the T-Mobile network. And I don't really have a lot of time to devote to it today as we're packing up the housecar for tomorrow's departure on a 4-6-week drive. Yikes.

I have a Samsung Galaxy s6
2 - Asus 10 inch tablets
1 IPad
1 kindle
1 Samsung tablet
