Phone Geeks!

I just picked up a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 ( 32GB with 64GB SD Card) and handed off my 32GB Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to Recidiva to replace her iphone 4s.

For non Americans, this is the Moto X Force. Same model, different name. For some weird reason.

I just switched the son's phone to a 4g cause ATT says they will no longer support the 2g which sucks cause I was able to get unlimited data on that phone for 6 bucks a month. Now I gotta pay 30 for 3 gb.

I dont see why they cant just support 2g, they still sell non smart phones.

He didnt want a phone without a full keyboard cause he is old school, told him he was getting a Samsung.

That's awesome. Glad you like it so well. :)

I'm thinking of upgrading to the Note 4 from the Note 3. Does anyone know if the 4 is really better?

I really do- until next month when the Moto G+ comes out :D

Keep in mind that Note 7 is coming in a few months (Samsung is skipping #6 for some reason) so the Note 4 & 5 will be on the cheap by then.

I just looked online and the Note 7 doesn't come out until 2017 :(

Nevermind, I just found a web site that says 2016.

If you had to pick one.

Honor 5x

or

Galaxy S5

I'm a Sansung fan but I refuse to pay over a certain amount.......So no 6 or 7 for me.

That's a tough call because I'm a die hard Samsung guy, too. BUT, for under $200.00, the Honor is by far the superior value. No one is going to beat the camera on a Sammy but the performance of the Honor 5X is truly wonderful.
Plus you can factor unlock it, then root the fucker.

I use an S6 and like it. Not a big fan of iPhones or Apple in general. Tried 'em, don't like 'em.
I'm on Verizon and got no complaints except there's a total dead spot for a couple miles between work and home. I wish that "can you hear me now" guy would come along and fix that. It's annoying at times.

I'm always torn between looking at todays mid range phones or 3 year old Samsung flagships. So far I always go towards buying the 3 year old flagships. Your camrea descriptive seals the deal for me.

Thx for the input.

Bluetooth 5.0 is coming

http://www.androidauthority.com/bluetooth-5-coming-june-16-faster-transfer-coming-697828/

This is the part that interests most people;

One of the most important improvements, however, could come in Bluetooth audio, which could see a massive upgrade in quality. Current generation implementations aren’t bad, but they are not excellent either. With Bluetooth 5’s promises of faster speeds and presumably higher bandwidth transfer capabilities, wireless audio could start rivaling what your audiophile friend’s equipment can produce, which would be a massive win for wireless audio solutions. Only time will tell, but it is about time wireless audio got an upgrade, and this is the perfect way to do so.

eh, I only use bluetooth to connect my remote to take pics.

I dont use it otherwise.

I unlocked and rooted the Honor 5X. It's now running the Resurrection Remix OS over top of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). I loaded it with primarily Google apps for that Pure Android experience. It's absolutely amazing how much better phones work without all the bloatware.

ETA: Honor 5X just updated to Marshmallow stock 6.0.1.

Got it and it's pretty sick. Super snappy and w/o all the bloatware as advertised. It has a couple small Google replacement apps which are better than the Google versions.
4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, you can't go wrong, especially with the fingerprint sensor.

I got an email from OnePlus the other day offering me a 15% discount on the OP3

Is that before or after the 20% hike after Brexit? And the OP3 has fantastic specs but they could have done better with a sharper screen.

I got the Nexus 5X for 239 shipping included 3 weeks ago.

I love this phone.

It's hard to find a small cheap good Android Phone. I was looking for 5 in or less. With a good camera. This one takes awsome pictures.

This one is 5.2 so I had to cross my line in the sand. I had a 4.7 in Galaxy Alpha before.

Lots to pick when you hit 5.5 in.

That's a great deal on that device. I've always leaned away from LG's, though.

Amazon has that great deal on the phone I'm using as my daily driver:

ETA: I actually have the G4 Plus.
