Naw -- she's just a tart.

But, seriously, these chats generate sales ... and the publisher "encourages" participation from its authors.

The more active an author is with promo events, the more likely the publisher is to sign future work -- seeing that author as likely to produce a good return on investment.

Just online and until they hit certain sales benchmarks, just as eBook downloads (then they'll be available in print). I think (although I haven't checked) that they're available via online booksellers ... but the book covers are linked to the Phaze store (where they're discounted).

Bump for imp.

Is this the thread you thought was missing?

No, hun. I was referring to the OTHER one -- that Peggy Roberts started for Erotique Press (at the request of BardsLady -- who is one of Erotique's authors).

Seems kinda unfair that that one would be scrapped when this one is still here.

I've got some reservatiaons about this thread.

I've got books out too and would like publicity, but if we all start advertising outselves here, where does it stop? I mean, I'm excited to hear about this online chat and it's definitely worth telling everyone about, but just when does an announcement become advertising for Phaze or some other publisher? Probably when you stop talking about the experience as it might be of interest to everyone and start hawking books.

There's hawking going on in the thread. There shouldn't be.

Well, spank me! ;)

Really, I started the thread as part of the promo expected by the publisher -- and so I could basically be annoying in one confined space. (Shush, now, if you feel I'm annoying elsewhere!)

But, I have an ulterior motive which has nothing at all to do with my personal sales or any "hawking" type activity: I want to see other AHers get published -- and if by sharing, it encourages folks to submit their work, then I'm a happy camper.

Well, I don't see how posting an ad for a book by someone named Petula Caesar helps AH'ers get their own books published, but whatever.

Best of luck with the book and the chat, darling.
