French teenagers mug Santa Claus - BBC News online

A group of French teenagers have mugged Father Christmas, attempting to steal his sack of presents.
The man dressed as Santa Claus was handing out sweets in the southern town of Ales when things turned nasty.

One of the teenagers demanded extra sweets and, when the red-cloaked Santa refused, he and his friends started kicking and pummelling the man. The teenager and his friends, all about 15 years of age, were eventually scared off by passers-by.

Father Christmas suffered multiple bruises and has lodged a criminal complaint, the AFP news agency reported.

It seems there are cases everywhere of some delinquent fuckwits (in a group, loners rarely dip into that petty sadism) screwing up someone's holiday fun. Last year, we had someone's beautiful train set-up outside smashed up (luckily the trains themselves were brought in). This year I went out looking at lights and there were smashed candy cane lights opposite a house where a lighted tree was stolen, a clear case of two-fer shitiness.

Our Gang was sometimes naughty but never nasty. They would have helped distribute the sweets or presents, even delivering them to orphanages or sick children.
