I'm afraid that I learned some very sad news today. Penuche passed away in November last year, after a brief battle with cancer, only a month or so after she last posted here in the Playground.

I don't want to give details of how I found this information, in order to preserve her privacy.

This is so sad - Pen was one of the first people I ever talked to on Lit, and I admired her feisty resilience, her wry sense of humour and the way in which she always stood up for what she believed in. I will miss her.

So sorry to be the bearer of such bad tidings. Please use this thread to record your memories of her.

I was just thinking about her and her AV. I didn't know her well. I'm so sorry for all who love her, and to hear of this sad news.

Oh wow.....I'm stunned! I knew she was ill - but this is so sad.

As many of you know i was very close to Pen and in fact we met in London for a few hours. She was an amazing lady...I will never forget her.

I didn't know her well, but to all of you who knew her and were close to her, I'm sorry for your loss.

Wow!!!! I am stunned. She seemed like a very nice lady. My condolences to her family and friends.

Im completely heartbroken over this...I have tears...

She was such a brilliant mind...and heart of gold...She was always in my inbox with praise, encouragement, kindness and warmth...

I loved her so much:(

RIP angel...

I'm sorry to hear this. We exchanged a couple PM'S over our shared time here. She was a lively lady. My condolences to her family and friends. :rose:

Very sorry to hear of this. I was wondering where she was.

So sad to hear:(
I barely knew her but having dealt with the C word myself it gets me very emotional

That’s really sad news, she was an interesting person and I enjoyed reading many of her comments within the threads. Lit is a smaller place now without her presence.

I remember posting on several threads with her. It was always interesting. Having battled the big C myself, like Leigh81, I get emotional when it captures another soul. My condolences go out to her family and friends.

Very sorry to hear this. Seemed like a lovely woman, bright, funny and imaginative. Glad to have met her here.

Ohhh my , I m speechless.
This is such sad news.
I m crying for this beautiful sweet soul.
She was so wonderful, and always would send me the most sweet pm's when I was battling my C.
Darn FYC.
But heaven has for sure a bright fun star.
And I m sure Mrs H. give her the biggest hug, and they so going to have fun together.
You always will be missed sweet lady and never forgotten.

She was one of the first people I chatted with on LIT. A very strong, funny, determined and bright soul. I will miss her.

It was the day before yesterday when I briefly thougt that I hadn't seen Penuche on the boards at all in recent months. She was a semi regular in one of the UK threads and I talked with her a little but not enough.

I'm sorry to hear of her passing.

I only chatted with her a few times on the UK thread, but she was great to talk to. It's very sad news indeed that she is no longer with us.

I am very sad to hear this.
She was one of the most amazing people I counted as a Lit friend for many years.

Thank You for sharing this out.:(

So sad to learn she passed away. I thought she was on hiatus getting medical care. She didn't know her health has deteriorated so rapidly at the time. I will always remember her. :rose:
