Pending but published?

My first went from draft to pending to published within hours.

The follow up story is still in the oensing category, but it says published when i look at the pending. If i click the cog it says scheduled.

Is this bornal ir a bug?

I submitted another story yesterday which this morning is in thhe same strange state.

I have read through the documentation and find nothing indication that this is normal?

Normal. The date above the "published" is when it will appear on the site and in the category lists.

Totally normal! Once a moderator approves a story, it'll go from having the Pending tag to having the Published tag, and it will have a publishing date some time in the near future. Sometimes one day later, sometimes a little more, depending on secret moderation variables and choices.

It will stay in the Pending tab of your Works page until it actually becomes visible to readers, which happens a little after midnight on the day listed, either Central or Eastern US timezone, I'm not sure which.

Same here. I submitted a new story earlier today. It shows as Published under Pending, but the date isn't until 1/5/2025. Very normal.

I have to say that it's only in the last couple months I've had a story go from Pending to Published - before that it was always to New with the next day's date. None of my previous 70 stories had a delay of 24+ hours between acceptance and publication - that seems to be a new thing in the last year.

Unlike @Jumqatqueen, I don't watch my account closely enough to know the time between pending to new or published. I think the average is 2 to 3 days. If it sits longer than 3 days, then I notice it.
