Paypal scam - how about Feedback Scam?

Has this happened to anyone?

All of a sudden I'm receiving lots of feedback on one particular story. Dozens. And last night there was a very odd feedback message that contained an attachment.

I opened the message, not the attachment, of course. The message reminded me of one of those strange I am Mariam Hajia Abacha the wife of the late Nigeria head of state, General Sani Aba money begging emails.

And now as I type this, I am wondering if that story has been swiped and posted elsewhere and has become spam fodder.

Shit.

The sudden flood of feedback on a particular story has happened to me before. Someone had added the Lit page to an archive of specialist stories. I got a little bit stroppy and demanded its removal, which I actually really regret. It was a decent enough site and I should've let them use it, especially as they were actually directing people to my Lit page, rather than creating their own.

The Earl

I may take Earl's advice and not stress too much about it, I guess. Especially as the story has been linked to Lit (or Erotic Stories) and to me. Hmmm.

The problem with searching for a possible theft of this story is the name - "William the Conqueror" - First Time sex for a lad named Billy. It's too damn common historically to be able to locate the smut.

Feedback, give me feedback, its been months since I've had any!

... Then again, maybe I should write something new. Its been months for that too.

Find a line in the first page of your story that is really unique, which doesn't include any character/place names and use an exact text search on Google by enclosing the line in quotes. That should turn up your Lit entry and any other place it has been crawled by Google.

Use the significant words in the first sentence or two to search with.

By significant I mean only words google will use. No "I" or "of." For example, my "Fire Pole" opus has these words, in the beginning of it:
A cuntmobile, the man says. A cuntmobile; the word echoed in his mind, banishing sleep.
so my search string is:
cuntmobile man says word echoed mind banishing sleep

That fetches it.

*snickers*

Praying for feedback is like wishing for the winning lottery ticket...

And you know what they say about wishing...

I'd forgotten that word in your Fire Pole story, cant.

Cuntmobile! *snicker*

I rather think it is a photomanipulation, not a custom VW.

I found it googling for my story.

It's a terrific thing to have lying around the house.

Perfect for dinnertime discussion.

Good for those awkward pauses when company arrives.

:cathappy:

"So Aunt Bea, did ya see my new Cuntmobile?"

Yeah, a conversation starter, for sure. :D

And ender.

I suppose it's a great way to get rid of unwanted relatives, too.

Are you kidding? I'm at the point now where I'm going to start inviting the trolls to have a weiner roast on my tab, lol....

What's funny is that the stories I once had on Lit generated some marvelous, and rather excessive, feedback. Now I think I'm doing pretty well that I got one feedback email out of twenty submissions.

Ah for the good old days... *laughs* Well, once the original bunch I had on Lit are redone and polished up a bit, I'll resubmit them.

Kidding? Most certainly not! :) I moaned on about LW in the past, now I just tend to avoid the cat. Good luck with the feedback on the resubs. :)
