Pandorum

Zora smiled at Dennis. "Told ya I knew you were Dennis." She looked over to Spec ops and motioned for him to carry the flashlights. If he carried two, one in each hand, she could carry the 3rd in her other hand. That means everyone's hands were full. Spec Ops had the two flashlights, she had another flashlight and the torch, and Dennis had the power tools. They had weapons and that's what Zora wanted. Weapons.

She was going to suggest they go ahead and leave, but Dennis' words filled her head. She swallowed slowly. "Yes. I figured if this isn't their nest than below us is. Which is why I have this feeling we need to get going now." She looked to both men as she stood between them. She gasped as she saw angry faces superimposed over their faces. She remembers bickering, anger, and guilt. Her guilt? Theirs? Zora literally shook her head and the feeling passed.

"Come on," Zora lead the way her light turned on and swiveling left to right in the hall. They were slowly going down the hall when Zora heard something. They all did. They paused and stared at eachother. Zora slowly swung the light behind them to see two of those things staring at them. One of them tilted their head and stared at them. Suddenly 3 more joined, 1 of them came crawling from the wall and ceiling, and the other was crouched on the ground.

"Shit." The word was said quietly barely audible to her own ears, but they took off at them all at once. Zora turned and ran as fast as she could. She was slowed down a lot by the items in her hands, but adrenaline was pumping through her which was keeping her from tripping over the dead bodies, slipping in their blood, and staying ahead of the things whose nails were scraping against the floor and walls. "Which way, left or right, left or right!"

They were coming to a dead end and the choices were to go left or right or smack right into elevator doors. Zora tried to slow down, but she ended up bouncing against the wall, stunning the shit out of her left arm. If it wasn't for the death grip on her items she was sure she would have dropped them.

-DING-

Zora blinked as the elevator door opened. "Seriously?" Zora didn't care, she ran in and dropped her tools grabbing for Dennis and Spec Ops to come in too. She picked up what she thought was the flame thrower to wash these monsters in fire, but when she turned it on it was bright light that washed over them. They screeched and ran into eachother or the walls almost as if they were blinded. You would have thought Zora would have remembered this from before, but this time it clicked.

"Get in, Get in!" The things turned towards her voice and the light wasn't having that much impact anymore. The monsters were running at them once more and the doors closed just in time. You could hear the things screeching and it sounded like they were pulling the doors apart. Actually they were! The door was slowly opening. "FUCK!" Zora ran to the console and realized no one had pushed a floor. Zora hit 'C' to pick up the others and the elevator went up just as the doors had opened for a face to show through.

Sighing Zora relaxed until the elevator shuddered and they could hear pounding on the floor. "Do you think they could .." A large dent was coming through the floor. The doors opened and Zora grabbed her tools and ran out. She wanted to scream to Crystal to find out where they were. "Chow hall, which way to chow hall?"

Spec Ops

Odd. Zora looks as if she has seen a ghost. She shakes her head and moves out into the hallway. He follows quietly, wondering what was going through her mind.

He knew something was wrong when he heard a light scuffling noise behind him. He turned, as did Zora, and noticed one of the pale forms knelt over a corpse. He debated killing it, but decided against it when three more appeared.

"Ah, hell." he mutters.

"Shit." he hears Zora say softly next to him.

They turn and sprint down the hallway, he staying to the rear in case those beasts caught up. Zora slammed into and elevator door at the end of the hallway, which dinged and opened. He cocked his head at it before giving Zora a light shove inside. Dennis was just in before him and he pressed the elevator close button. They were slow in closing, so Zora flashed one of the lights at them. They screamed as if burning, slamming into the walls and each other. This only lasted a few seconds before they were after them again. The doors shut, but were torn slightly open again by the beasts. One of them got an arm and his head through the doors, snarling at them and reaching with his free arm. The Spec Ops steps over in front of the group and punches the creature in the face, knocking it out of the breach and allowing the elevator to raise. He shakes his hands by his side. Those things had some tough bones. They reach the C deck and step out into the hallway. He picks his two heavy lights up again and realizes something.

"They might have heard the elevator. Let's keep moving. I think chow hall is to the left."

Dennis Graham

Dennis frowned to hiself as they moved down the left corridor on their way to the mess hall. Light...the bright light actually seemed to have hurt them until Zora yelled and that got their attention again. If he had some time he could...yes he could build something that might damage their senses, they seemed to not be tougher, but also to have advanced senses. A flashbang of sorts, he should talk to Spec Ops, he would know what would go into a flashbang apart from magnesium...Wait how on earth did he know all this shit? Why was his name tags ripped off? Why was his locker cleaned out? Dennis shook his head to clear the thoughts and when they came to the mess hall the door slid open without an effort, but just to make sure Dennis pushed the lock button once they were inside, it would unlock instantly if they had to leave in a hurry, but also it should keep the creatures at bay long enough to allow them to escape.

The mess hall were well lit, well better lit than most of the places he have seen so far. Dennis scanned the interior and was relieved to see no signs of holes or anything, maybe the creatures didn't roam around here that frequently? He placed his flood lamp on one of the tables and watched Zora. Why would she be on a picture with him? And they both didn't seem to wear any clothes at the time if you judged by both their shoulders being bare. But would a woman of her stature and standing actually have anything to do with a guy like him? Dennis doubted that and started to wonder if this little piece of evidence wasn't planted?

They made it to the mess hall. Great! Zora forgot how big the actual mess hall was. It was at least the entire span of the ship and the lights of course were mostly off only a few lights actually worked sending shadows everywhere. Zora put down her weapons and sat on top of the table catching her breath. She motioned for Dennis and Spec Ops to come closer so she could whisper to them.

"We need to check the," Zora took in a breath. She was panting from running. Dude, she was in shape, but after sleeping for so long and then having to use those muscles it was killing her. "Other doors. Make sure they're locked or that those ... things aren't out there." Zora took another breath. "Also Crystal and Dan should be in here somewhere. We need to find them and get out."

Zora could breathe easier now having rested. The mess hall looked relatively unscathed that was until you realized there was a huge hole in the middle of the ceiling. Zora didn't know what had made such a hole, but something was off about it. Then it snapped in her mind. The hole was made from the inside out, not the outside in. Something or ... someone had been trying to get out. Not in.

"Oh shit."

Spec Ops

I'm over my speaking quota for today, he thought absently. Don't usually talk this much. And now Dennis looks like he's seen a ghost. They were in the mess hall. It was a large room, by all means the largest in the ship, other than the cargo bay, and it was in generally good shape if you didn't count the shadows everywhere, which he didn't mind too much, and the hole in the ceiling. Zora called them closer and said they would have to search the area. She was breathing heavily and he almost asked if she was alright, but decided against it. She'll just bite my head off again, he reasoned. About then was when she noticed the hole in the ceiling.

"Ah, hell." he said for the second time today.

As always, little details save lives, and that's what the Spec Ops picked up on. The hole appeared as if something were getting out, not in. He shined one of his lights around the room. Nothing hiding in the shadows, at least. No blood, either. Always a good sign. The hole was disturbing, though. He walked under it and shined a light through it. Nothing. The hole led into a dark room just above them. He took note of the only other door and moved back towards the group.

"Nothing as far as I can see. Room's clear other than the hole. No sign of Dan or Crystal. They might have already been here and left." he reports.

Dennis Graham

Dennis still struggled to get over his initial shock, first the ID, then the photo, then ambushed by the creatures. He shook his head, he would have time to think this over when he had some time. What puzzled him was that Zora was so out of breath and Spec Ops and himself seemed fine. Zora definitely was fit, her lithe body attested to that, Dennis for a short stretch of time saw Zora's naked body and then the image slipped away.

"Fuck Dennis get a grip"

He muttered it a bit louder than he wanted and found that both Zora and Spec Ops was looking at him. He cleared his throat softly to cover his mistake and motioned around them.

"We're in the mess hall, we must find something acetone based, unfortunately the only thing that comes to mind is nail polish remover. Also we must find bleach somewhere along with empty bottles"

They both looked slightly confused at him

"I know that mixing that stuff and adding fire would make it go Boom, not a real grenade, but it might just get them away from us and give us time to get away"

Daniel Frost - No Through Road

The stairs zig-zag up through a narrow tunnel through the superstructure of the ship, entirely dark aside from the light of their torches. Daniel says nothing as they ascend, afraid his voice will echo in the tunnel and draw unnecessary attention. Four flights and a door marked with a large blue C heads back into the ship. Except the door is closed and the panel beside it smashed. Daniel curses quietly, not looking at Crystal so she can't see the nerves played across his expression. Instead, he peers into the shattered box, leaning against the wall. As his hand touches the wall over the box, he recoils quickly. Something dark red, sticky, gloops from his fingers.

"Oh god," Daniel curses with dismay, "I think I know what happened to this panel." Quickly, he wipes his hand off on his jumpsuit. "Isn't there anywhere not fucking covered in blood?"

He looks at Crystal, keeping his voice down, but obviously somewhat distressed, "We might be able to make it through this door, but likely not quickly and I don't want to stick around here to find whatever 'caused all this mess. Food's going to have to wait. We've got to keep moving, get to the Bridge."

He can't bear any argument so he doesn't wait for her acknowledgement, just turns and starts ascending the stairs towards what must be level B.

Crystal followed Daniel down the zig zag stairs, noticing how dark it is aside from the torches. They are still silent but thats only because its an echoey hall and if they talk the monsters may hear them and chase after them, smart move on their part. Crystal heard Daniel curse and looked and she could've swore she saw nerves play across his expression but since its so dark she can't really tell so she doesn't question it. "Wait, don't touch that it's bloo--" she tried to whisper a warning but its too late... Daniel did it anyway.

Crystal sighed and shook her head. "I tried to warn you." she said looking disgusted. "Apparently not though." When Daniel mentioned that food is going to have to wait her stomach growled a protest and she sighed an exasperated sigh, "But, I'm starving I don't even know how long its been since I've eat..."

Apparently, he didn't care because he continued walking, growling Crystal started following behind him. Crystal silently started a few of her own curses.

I swear to god, I better get some food or I may end up eating him

Zora doesn't like that they haven't found Crystal or Dan. It could be like Spec ops said they came in and left and it wasn't like Zora, Spec Ops, or Dennis had anything else to carry the food or water in. Being holed up on the bridge they better have enough food or water or people would get cranky, mean, and not let them in if they didn't have their 'own' bribes to get in. Why would you share what little you have left with people you don't know? Would you go hungry so someone else could eat? Probably not. Zora bit her lip. She had to trust that Crystal and Dan had gotten the food and water.

"Okay. Let's start heading to the bridge. But first..." Zora was hungry. She was in the chow hall she needed strength, fuck she needed food. "I know we don't have time, but if I don't get something to eat I'm going to seriously throw a fit." Zora ran to the back, skirting around that huge hole in the ceiling. That thing freaked her out. As soon as she pushed open the doors there was that flickering light. She got a bad omen.

A lot of the food was spilled on the floor, rotting, or was gone. The fridge had no power and that smell was something Zora wanted to forget, but was afraid she wouldn't be able to. She went to the shelves and pantry and found cans and some other food. She just couldn't carry it; it'll be too heavy from all the other weapons she was carrying.

Zora sighed and laid her head down on her arms which were resting on the shelves of the pantry. She was so hungry. She slowly opened her eyes and on the ground almost as if it was kicked there and stayed was a bag of chips. One of those giant family size bags. Zora picked it up and laying right beside it a bottle of water. Probably someone's last minute hidden stash. The water was warm and she could bet her ass the chips were stale, but it was food.

Zora returned to the men holding the meal. She tore open the bag and the chips were stale and hard, but it tasted so good on her tongue. She opened the water and took a small sip. It was warm, but it didn't have a metallic taste and it was good. She offered the food to the others as she grabbed a handful of the chips for herself.

Dennis Graham

Dennis was busy looking for some sort of bleach or empty jars, when Zora stated that she was hungry he realized something...he just couldn't put his finger on it. Shrugging he continued his search, but came up empty handed, he did find an abandoned bag, he also found it close to a spatter of blood so he wondered if somebody didn't use it to carry food from here to another point. He saw Zora come out of through the doors holding a packet of chips and water, but Dennis did notice that on the shelves behind her was cans...can that could be opened with their knives...why on earth would she want to eat that chips? Hefting the bag Dennis walked closer to Zora, he couldn't help to think that if circumstances was a bit different he would have made a move on her by now, but with these things around you had to keep your mind on the job or get eaten...Eaten...there was that feeling again. Dennis took one of the chips and popped it into his mouth, he allowed it to soak up his saliva, before chewing on the mush. He showed the bag to Zora

"Those cans, if we wrap them up they will make less of a noise and we can carry them in this, from the look of the place I don't think that Crystal and Dan came this way"

He watched Zora think about what he said, drinking from the water bottle and another thought came up, he turned to Spec Ops

"Hey Ops, you haven't complained about being thirsty or hungry yet, are you just not in need of drink and food or are you machoing it out?

Spec Ops

The Spec Ops spent his time double checking locks as Zora and Dennis searched the back room. Zora came back out with some chips and a bottle of water. Dennis moved over closer to Zora, and the Speck Ops recognized the look the man gave Zora. He was willing to bet that once they hit the bridge he would be getting a lot closer to her. They started eating, and he didn't even think of joining them. Not once.

"Hey Ops, you haven't complained about being thirsty or hungry yet, are you just not in need of drink and food or are you machoing it out?"

The Spec Ops cocked his head at the man. Eating just hadn't occurred to him yet. He was vaguely aware of a hunger in his stomach, but it seemed far away. Must be the training.

"No, I suppose I haven't. Let's make a deal: I'll eat something when I'm sure we're semi-safe from the things trying to eat us."

To be honest, they could probably care less if I were to eat or not, he thought to himself. Regardless, he was probably the best chance these people had for survival, so he would see it through. His own cold voice and thoughts were starting to get to him. Was he never happy? Had he never felt joy in his life? With that thought, he looked into Zora's eyes. They seemed to have a warm, joyful look to them. No, he had felt it before. 'When' was the question. He looks away, deep in thought, and leans back against a wall.

Zora looked at Dennis then at the cans. "If we need to run those will definitely slow us down, but what I'm really curious about," Zora looked around to see if she missed something. "How do you know they haven't been here yet?" She didn't see footsteps and yes there was barely any food, but that could be because Crystal and Dan had come and taken it all. Or they could not have came at all. Zora couldn't tell.

"Spec Ops." Zora had to catch herself. She felt like she was about to give a command and she had to stop herself. She needed Spec Ops to come here, because he was the one with training and she wanted to know if he saw anything, but she still wanted to hear how Dennis knew.

"We'll need everyone's strength up. So you definitely need to eat too." Zora took another sip of the water before thrusting the bottle into Spec Ops hands. She let Dennis take another handful of the chips if he wanted before grabbing the family size bag and holding them out to Spec Ops. "I won't have our security having hunger pains and unable to function." Zora smiled at him to say that the words were joking.

Zora turned back to Dennis. "Though we could use more supplies especially food and water. Let's take the cans, but if we have to make a run for it the first things we're dropping is the extra weight. Which would be the food. I have faith that Dan and Crystal had gotten food. What else could they be doing?"

Dennis Graham

Dennis took the chips, dropped them into the pocket of his coveralls after popping another one into his mouth.

"Well first of all if they were here it wouldn't be so dusty, I'll think that they wouldn't be any more picky than us so we wouldn't be eating chips right now"

Dennis swallowed the saturated chip before continuing

"So my guess is that the panel to open the door has been damaged and then the obvious choice would be to head for the bridge"

Dennis shrugged

"I'll get to fixing us up with canned food"

Dennis entered through the doors and looked for something to wrap the cans in, he found a bunch of serviettes and lined out the bag with them, before wrapping up the cans in the serviettes and packing them into the bag. He zipped the bag close and after a short inspection he used a knife to modify the strap and tied the bag to the harness he wore. Flexing his shoulders he realized that this was as much as he could carry along with the saw. He went over to the fridge to inspect it, various foodstuffs have gone bad and he almost gagged at the smell, then he saw what he was looking for. Water. Picking up a bottle he opened it and took a swig, it tasted good, warm, but good. Popping more chips into his mouth he soaked them with the water and chewed the mush before swallowing it. He walked out of the doors and placed the water on the counter

"There's more water back in the fridge, it's warm, but it's clean"

Spec Ops

Zora got that commanding note in her voice before catching herself. She then insisted that he eat. He still wasn't going to, no matter how much she insisted. Though he did notice that was the second time she smiled at him.

"Please. When we're at the bridge I'll eat if you really want me to."

He moved around to the back room where Dennis was. Food was scattered everywhere, most of it gone bad. Dennis was at the fridge, which had a decent amount of water in it. The Spec Ops looked around for something to carry the water in. He opened the second fridge. Oddly enough it was empty save the one bag sitting right in the center.

"Found a bag." he said to Dennis.

He moved over with the bag and began filling it with water. It was heavy, but he could deal with it. He moved out to the other room following Dennis, and showed Zora. Well, at least they wouldn't be thirsty anytime soon. They also had the canned food that Dennis was carrying. He glanced around yet again, cautious of the large hole in the ceiling, and wanting to get moving again.

Zora was confused. She just stared at Dennis trying to figure out what he was talking about. It wouldn't be so dusty? What if they came and left. Why would they dust when they were here? They were to get food and get out. Not stay and linger. And the thing about the chips confused her. She had found those chips on the floor under the last shelf by accident. It looked like it had been kicked under their as someone's last ditch effort for a secret stash. She wouldn't expect Dan and Crystal to find those chips. They were to get food and go. Grab as much food as possible which is why Zora didn't even want to take the food they were going to take now. Crystal and Dan should have done this already, but on the other hand bringing as much food as possible was always a good idea.

Though when Dennis started talking about the panel she was completely baffled and had to ask. "What panel? We were able to walk right in. There is no panel on this door." Zora shook her head. Dennis was acting odd and wasn't making sense. Maybe he hadn't gotten any sleep or maybe he was crazy.

"Look I don't care. You," Zora pointed to Spec Ops. "Need to eat. There's no guarantee we'll make it to the bridge easily. If those things come at us we'll need you healthy. Being stubborn or trying to act like your not hungry is stupid. There's nothing wrong with the food. You," Zora turned back to Dennis. "Just whatever. Let's go. I think we stayed here too long."

Zora thought she had made the wrong choice. Both men were acting odd. Who had food, but didn't eat it refusing to eat til they got to the bridge. Perhaps normal food wasn't his forte. Perhaps it was skin, bone, and fresh meat he rather dine on. And the other man. The other man was talking crazy. His ramblings made no sense and Zora went to the front door to check. Nope there was no panel on the door they entered into the chow hall. Zora felt a trickled of sweat slide down her back as her fear began to overtake her. She shouldn't be with them.

"I'll... scout ahead."

Zora took her weapons (large industrial size flashlight, knife in her pocket, home made flame thrower thingy) and walked out of the door. She immediately started towards where she thought the stairs should be. Yes, in essence she was leaving the men. She didn't trust them. They were with the things and she could only rely on herself.

Spec Ops

Spec Ops cocked his head at Zora as she said there was no panel. He could see it right there. He also found it odd what Dennis said about it being dusty. Dusty? Who the hell dusts tables and shelves on an abandoned ship? He busied himself with packing down the water and canned food he had managed to fit in his bag. He shook it, and it made no noise. Good. He checked his weapons. He had a knife in the sheath across the back of his waist and the one in his boot. He slipped the bag of food and water over his shoulder. It was heavier than he expected, but he dealt with it, as he would deal with many other things in the days to come.

The Spec Ops looked over at Zora as she started talking again. His training instantly kicked in. He had been trained to recognize certain things about people, things that almost all but the select few in his program would recognize. She was very, very good at hiding it, but he noticed. She was becoming panicked. The tone of her voice was just slightly uneven as when a person is doing something they aren't sure about. She was leaving them. He could feel it.

"I'll...scout ahead." she said in her slightly shaken voice.

She picked up her weapons and left the room. Honestly? Spec Ops didn't trust Dennis. He didn't like how he seemed to know almost everything about this ship. As for Zora, she was shaken and unsure of herself. She didn't trust him or Dennis. That showed that she wasn't on their side. The 'they' in question being the ghouls. He made a quick decision. A few seconds after she left, when Dennis looked away, the Spec Ops silently and quickly left the room, the doors sliding shut behind him. He put a lock on the door, not wanting Dennis to follow them. There was another door, but it led to a different corridor.

A Lone Wolf again, he followed Zora silently, sticking to the shadows and using his suit to his advantage yet again.

Name: Aiya Kincade

Age: 22

Nationality: asian/american

Title: Assistant Medical Officer

Aiya huddled in the shadows, her knees drawn up to her chin as her eyes stared into the darkness. She could hear the sounds, the shuffling and shifting from the corridor beyond. She grasped the makeshift spear she had made from using a scalpel and a metal pipe. She laughed silently to herself as she had the mindless thought of how duct tape works wonders on anything. She still had no idea of what was going on,or even where everyone else was.

She had awaken several days ago, terrified and alone. She had found her way to level D and then she had found "Them". She had found the bodies, stopping to check for any signs of life. She had frowned at first when she tried to remember what she had done before all this had happened. She remembered her name due only to the fact of her name tag on her blue jumpsuit. Aiya Kincade. Some hazy memories had come back of her helping a doctor in Med lab, treating injuries and preparing for....she couldnt recall.

She had spotted one of the "Things" by chance as she knelt to check a body, her slight build helped her easily hide from sight as it moved by. She was petite standing at an even 5 foot. her jet black hair hung to mid back and her eyes were slightly slanted and a deep brown. Her mother had been asian and her father an american scientist, which was why she had followed a career in the medical field. Now her eyes held terror as she huddled there, she had heard voices earlier but had not wanted to emerge from her hiding place for fear of "Them" seeing her. She was not a fighter and relied on her mind to think of ways to hide.

Her cheek was smeared with blood and grime from spending several days hiding and scavaging around the ship. Today she had heard other human voices, voices close by but yet hard to determine which direction they had come from. She peeked out from the shadows, looking up and down the dark hallway. Shadows danced around yet she didnt see anything dangerous at the moment.Holding the spear tightly she moved out and began to run down the hallway, hopefully towards the voices she had heard.

Aiya ran, looking back over her shoulder as she ran. She didnt know what level she was now on but in her running had left level D. She had done good this far to avoid the things that had taken over the ship. She rounded a corner and slid across the floor, her feet going out from under her. She hit the floor hard and felt the wetness soaking into her already grimy clothes. She looked down at her hand that rested in the puddle and fought the urge to puke. Blood covered her fingers, shaking her hand furiously she scrambled back to her feet. Holding back the sob that threatened she spun down the next juncture and her body slammed into something softer than the wall. She fell backwards and looked up.. Another female and male stood before her.

Dennis Graham

Dennis found himself alone suddenly, he just shook his head and then saw movement in the hole in the ceiling. One of the monsters dropped out of the hole, tattered parts of a uniform hung from it's frame. Dennis realized that it was almost as tall as him, but it's muscles was more streamline, making it look like a predator. Dennis gauged the distance to his saw and realized that he wouldn't make it, reaching behind him, he unhooked the hammer from the harness and dropped into a ready crouch

"Come to daddy fucker"

His voice seemed to aggravate the creature and it came storming at Dennis, Dennis hefted the hammer and swung. He felt the claws ripping through his coveralls and the shock running up his arms as the hammer connected with a sickening impact. Dropping the hammer, Dennis ran for the door only to find it locked

"Fuckit!"

So they left him behind as bait, well screw them. Dennis turned to face the creature as it came to it's feet, shaking it's head groggily. Well this was it, take it down or die. Dennis remembered that he found the bag next to smears of blood, well then he would prove that these things can die, he killed one already...but he wasn't wounded and he caught the beast by surprise...The creature snarled and stormed at Dennis, it was fast...very very fast

Spec Ops

The Spec Ops heard the thud on the door behind him. He stopped and stood straight in the hallway. He looked back at the door. Damn it, he thinks to himself. He won't leave anyone for dead, even if it means he might die. He dropped his bag and turned to the retreating form of Zora, then shook his head sullenly and started back towards the door. He could hear snarling behind it.

"Fuckit!" he heard Dennis say.

Not good. Ops unlocks the door and it slides open. One of the ghouls is streaking rapidly straight for Dennis, who is standing right in front of the door. He grabs the man and pulls him off to the side, the beast almost flying right by them, now heading towards the women down the hallway.

"Ah, hell." for the third time.

He absently thought about starting a drinking game based around that phrase just before giving Dennis a yank down the hallway. Ops sprint down the hallway after the beast and reached it just as it reached Zora. It raised a claw to bring it down on her just as he kicked it in stomach. It growled something and turned to face him, growling louder now. A large enemy, but one on one he should be able to take it. He drew his one knife, and then brought his left boot up swiftly, the second knife sliding free and twirling through the air. He catches it as the beast attacks. He ducks just barely and slices several main arteries on his foe as he moves around behind it. It turns quickly, faster than any human, and strikes out. This one connects.

A sharp lance of pain streaks through him as the ghoul's hand hits his shoulder, dislocating it. Thoroughly pissed off, the Spec Ops tackles the full sized monstrosity and stabs it several times in the heart, the large knife sliding easily between it's ribs. He stands up slowly as the thing shudders it stands again as the Spec Ops turns away, maybe hoping to take him with it. Not today, he thinks to himself. He reverse kicks the beast in the chest, knocking it back it the wall, it draws one final breath, and dies. Ops notices Zora and Dennis moving slightly closer. He reaches out and gets a handful of both their shirts, lifting Zora slightly off the ground so she didn't make a run for it.

"Now can we please get over this stupid paranoia and work together?" he says in a calm voice, though oblivious fury showing for the first time in years. He glares at them and waits for an answer, sheathing his knives.

Dennis Graham

"Now can we please get over this stupid paranoia and work together?"

Dennis shoved the hand from his coveralls and glared angrily at Spec Ops

"Stupid paranoia? Says the man who locked me inside that mess hall. So far the only person who didn't seem like he wanted anybody else dead was me. So don't come with a silent threat at me Spec Ops"

Giving both a dirty look, Dennis turns and walks angrily towards the mess hall, leaving a trail of blood behind him. Entering the mess hall he picks up the hammer and hooks it back into the harness, muttering dark words he picks up the saw and turns to find Zora and Spec Ops standing in the door way

"What do you want?"

Zora was running trying to find the damn stairs. There should be some at the front and back of the ship. BUT trying to find the front and back in this mass of hallways was frustrating add in the occasional truly dark hall that Zora would not go down or the holes here and there and you can see the issue.

So imagine Zora's surprise when a thing slams into her. Well not slam, but hard enough to catch her attention. She almost yells when she realizes it's a person. Zora doesn't realize that Spec Ops is behind her as she drops her weapons and grabs the girl's arm. "You're alive. You're a person?!" Zora stares into her eyes then shakes her as she fires question after question. "What's happening? Where did these things come from? Why didn't we wake up when we were supposed to? Where's the resistant? Where's the captain? ANSWER ME!"

Zora knew she should stop shaking the girl, but she couldn't seem to get her body to reason with her mind. It was only the girl's eyes widening that let Zora know that something was behind her. She felt like she was in a movie as she slowly turned her head to see that thing coming down at her. Zora pushed the girl behind her. She was going to give her life to say this girl.

Zora briefly thought of going for her knife but she didn't have enough time to draw it. Hell, she didn't have enough time to grab any of the weapons at her feet and use those. Then Spec Ops came and kicked some ass. Zora kept trying to jump in there, but the thing would either knock her on her ass, or she was afraid of getting in Spec Ops way. Soon the thing was dead and Zora was happy there were no others. She also knew that maybe they just weren't working with the things.

Spec Ops grabbed her, lifted her, and Zora had the dirties image in her mind. Fighting, fucking, sweat, guilt, being caught. She pulled back and was released as she glanced at the two men. What the fuck was going on here? Then Dennis got mad at her for leaving him. She couldn't blame him. "Dennis?!" But he was already gone.

"You," Zora pointed to the girl. "Come with us. You can tell us your story." Zora caught the girl's eyes and something made Zora second guess that the girl knew anything more than they did. Still being in a group was better than being single and for some reason Zora just did not feel like this girl was part of them. It could be the messy appearance and the lightly scared look or maybe it was the deer in the headlights look when the thing was coming at her back. Everything said the girl was scared, alone, and they should take her with them.

Spec Ops

He cursed silently to himself as he trailed after Dennis. He was pissed at Dennis for being pissed at him, pissed at Zora for trying to leave them, and pissed at himself for falling into the same trap. He was probably more angry with himself than the others. He walked with a slight limp as he realized he had taken a blow to the leg as well. His shoulder was still dislocated, but he didn't have the right pressure to push it back. Not unless someone were to help him, but he figured that they were still pissed at him. So, all in all, he hurt like hell. He tried not to show it, though. No reason for the others to be more frightened than they actually are. He moved into the doorway, Zora beside him and the other girl they had found right behind them. He leaned against the doorway as Dennis turned to yell at them.

"Calm down. I understand where your coming from. I'm probably more upset than you are that I almost left you for dead. But I came back. And I can assure you that I will protect you all till the end, whenever it might come." he vowed.

He got the feeling that he would be paying a great price for that vow. He turned to look at Zora.

"And you, please don't try to leave again. If we separate we will most likely perish, and I don't want that to happen." he was calming down. "Sorry if I hurt you, by the way." he tacks on at the end.

Chaska Voeller

There it was again - the scrape of metal on metal, the sound of one of them moving through the passages outside her hiding place. They were coming closer every time, as if they were stalking her like a predator, driving her exactly where they wanted. The protein bars she had found were almost gone, as was the flask of water; her stomach clenched uncomfortably even at the thought of food.

Soon, she would have to venture out... and then they would take her. The things. The ghouls.

But something was different this time. What was it? Had she been hearing things again? Were those... voices?

The ghoul outside her hiding place moved away, the sounds of its scuttling echoing off the metal walls of the access conduits in the ceiling. The voices were definitely louder now, more than one, and the ghoul was attracted to them like a moth to a flame. Chaska wanted to cry out, to scream for them to shut up, to hide, but nothing came out except an agonized squeak.

The words echoed up to her: “Come to daddy, fucker.”

Snarling and the sounds of a struggle. Chaska knew what would come next: bone snapping and ttissue tearing as the ghoul ate its latest kill. But instead, she heard a different voice: "Now can we please get over this stupid paranoia and work together?"

More than one? Together? After the ghoul attacked? That meant that, somehow, they had actually killed one. Whoever they were.

Chaska slowly crawled out of her hiding place, listening to the raised voices of the people below her. Two men and two women, maybe more. It was hard to tell with all the echoes bouncing off the metal tunnel. She crawled toward a vent grille, hidden in the shadows, looking down at the small group huddled in the doorway below. She leaned closer, trying to get a better look -

The grille gave way, and Chaska plummeted toward the floor.

Dennis Graham

"Calm down. I understand where your coming from. I'm probably more upset than you are that I almost left you for dead. But I came back. And I can assure you that I will protect you all till the end, whenever it might come."

Dennis felt like he could just grab the shorter man and pummel him into the ground in anger

"Protect? Is that why you locked me in? For my own protection? You are full of crap Spec Ops, but I have no other choice than to trust you as together we can survive better"

Dennis watched as Spec Ops processed what he said and turned to reprimand Zora for leaving them. He took a deep breath and tried to calm down, as the adrenaline started to wear off, he became aware of the slashes down his arms, he also noticed that Spec Ops' arm was hanging a bit more limp than usual and that there was a gash on his leg. He clipped the med kit from his belt and when Spec Ops turned his attention back to Dennis, Dennis tossed it at him, he meaning clear, 'I-trust-you-enough'

It was then that the grill came crashing down, Dennis activated the saw and turned, ready to inflict some damage, but stopped short when he saw the dirty blond hair, the creatures didn't have hair. Then he noticed the grime streaked face and she looked human, not pale and drawn like the creatures, he deactivated the saw and took a closer look. To him she looked scared, well if he was laid out on the ground and a tall, bloodied guy stood over him with a hydrolic saw. Taking another deep breath to calm himself he gave the woman a calming smile

"Don't worry we will not kill and eat you, that's the other guys"

Zora watched the fight between Dennis and Spec Ops with a strange sense of De ja vu'. She was really getting tired of the feeling and she didn't interrupt them. Hell, if they were angry with eachother they couldn't be angry with her. She smiled before a thought formed in her head and she got in Spec Ops face. "YOU WERE FOLLOWING ME!?" She growled at him in frustration and anger.

"I DO NOT NEED YOU TO FOLLOW ME. I GIVE ORDERS YOU OBEY. THAT'S HOW THIS WORK!" Zora didn't know how she knew that, but it felt right and famillar. So did the passionate and hard kiss that never came. So did the tearing of clothes, being pushed over the desk, and slammed into from behind. It was a phantom memory, but one she knew. Oh shit. Did I ...were we...Spec Ops and I?

Zora still looked pissed, but confused than she yelped as something slammed into the ground right in front of them. Zora took a defensive position in front of the new girl who hadn't said a word while Dennis cranked up the chain saw. Than he stopped and Zora got a better look. It was another girl. They were finding strays left and right. Good. They could help carry the weapons and food.

Zora smiled reassuringly as Dennis told her they weren't going to eat her. She bent down to help the girl up, but found a picture on the floor. Thinking it was the girl's she picked it up, turned it over, and froze. It was a picture of her and Dennis. Images flooded her mind. Her in Dennis' arms, dinner, laughter. Zora pocketed the picture confused of what she was. Or who these men were to her.

"Come - come on lil one. We won't hurt you, but you can answer some questions for us. Both of you!" Zora looked at the other girl and gently pulled her forward so she was standing next to the other girl. She was ignroing looking at both guys and hey maybe the guys would go for the girls and Zora could ignore the fact that she was probably a cheating, jezebel.

"First, where is everyone else? What happened? What are those things?" Zora had to stop before she started firing questions again. She just wanted to get some things straight about what's going on on Pandorum. Not in her mind.
