Pandorum

Crystal was ready to kill Dan. Yes, that sounded good. She could kill him and leave him behind for those things to get to him while she found some food. Thats what they were supposed to be doing. She wanted to scream, she wanted to throttle something, she wanted to kick something, she wanted to do something other than what she was doing because at the rate they were going, if they didn't find food and the bridge "they" would get them and Crystal would throw Dan to them first.

Why? Because she was fucking starving and scared and felt so alone and...

Suddenly the sound of something against the wall caused Crystal to give a shrill scream before turning around and pulling out her knife ready to kill the thing. The thing happened to be an asian woman. Aiya Kincade, she worked with the doctor and.....that was it. Where'd that info come from?

"Aiya!" She said, rushing over to hug her friend. Yes! Her friend, she knew Aiya. Thank god, someone she recognized. Now, if only she could remember everything else about her life. "Are you okay?" Then it occured to her that maybe Aiya didn't remember her. "Do you...remember me?" She asked cautiously, "Granted I don't remember much but I remember you!"

Spec Ops

He watched Zora as she started screaming at him for following her. She was right to do so. But then again, he felt no guilt over doing it, as he had lost his moral sense some time ago. He turns back to Dennis in time to catch a med pack thrown at him. He nods at the man. They had an uneasy relationship, but a working one, for the moment. And he had noticed that look Dennis gave him earlier. If it came down to it and they ended up fighting, which he would avoid as best he could, not even that power saw would save the man from his wrath. There was a low crack from above, and then a grate gave way and fell to the ground, carrying a form with it. The Spec Ops turned quickly, half stepping in front of Zora as he drew his knife. Realizing it was just a woman, he stepped out of his ready position and sheathed his knife.

He listened as Dennis reassured her. He also noticed Zora pick up a picture on the ground and then she rapidly stiffened. He got a glimpse of it. It was her and Dennis together, and it seemed that they had nothing on judging by the bare shoulders. He felt a brief spike of familiar anger. He had seen that picture before. It was in his office... He cocked his head slightly as Zora pocketed it and pulled the two women off to one side to question them. His anger subsided quickly. He shrugged to himself before sitting down at a table and tending to his wound. He cleaned the blood off with some water before applying some antiseptic, which burned like hell on his open wound, and then slapping a dressing on it. Realizing Dennis was also bleeding, he waved him over and fixed his wounds before giving him the med kit back. His arm would have to wait. Nothing around here to give him the leverage to put it back in place unless someone gave him a hand. But they seemed pissed at him right then, so he decided to deal with till they hit the bridge. Standing and moving to the door, he thinks to himself. Bridge...bridge. What about the bridge? A few thoughts tumble around his head before he grabs the right one. Well that's not good.

"The bridge has a level five quarantine lock on it. We can't get in. Not even the captain's pass can raise a lock that high." he thinks again. "I'll think of something when we get there."

The fall drove the wind from Chaska’s lungs, knocking her senseless for a moment. She looked around wildly, seeing people all around her - somehow she had landed right in the middle of a group. As her mind started to clear, she looked around - two women, one dark-skinned and one fair, and two men.

Chaska looked up in terror at the man standing over her. He was bloodied from numerous slashes and holding a whirring power saw. For a moment her cloudy memories became crystal clear -

A figure standing in the doorway to her bedroom. Huge, muscled arms. Strong hands. The smell reached her - that mixed scent of cologne an maleness that had been with her so many nights when they were alone together. The figure moved toward her, reaching out to stroke her hair.

Daddy -

The dark-skinned woman reached out an arm and reflexively Chaska took hold and got to her feet, trembling. Zora? Is that her name? Chaska thought. Do I know her?

"Come - come on lil one. We won't hurt you, but you can answer some questions for us."

Chaska choked back a giggle - she couldn’t help it. There were no answers here, only death, whether it came sooner or later.

"First, where is everyone else? What happened? What are those things?"

Chaska licked her lips. “They’re dead. They’re all dead... and so are we.”

Dennis took the medkit from Spec Ops and reatched it to his belt, the guy wasn't so bad after all. Dennis sighed and got back to his feet, he was about to say something when Spec Ops spoke up suddenly

"The bridge has a level five quarantine lock on it. We can't get in. Not even the captain's pass can raise a lock that high." he thinks again. "I'll think of something when we get there."

Dennis realized that he had already moved and he still had that strange tilt to his arm, something was wrong, sure he was pissed at the guy for locking him up, but they needed him

"I'm sure that when we get there, we will find a way inside"

He glanced over at the new girl and thought that she kind of looked cute underneath all that grime, he walked closer to Spec Ops and looked back at Zora talking to the girl, then focused his attention back on the smaller man and said in a low voice

"Listen I know that I snapped, but I thought I was dead, thanks for saving my ass and listen I'm not a doctor, but I can see something is wrong with your arm, if you need help just tell me, I'll help you. We're in this mess together and like you said it's time for us to work together"

Zora stared at the girl as she said they were all dead. "Who killed them?" No, Zora knew that answer. Hell, it seemed every question she wanted answered she already knew the answer. She sighed. "Stay with us. We're going to the bridge to the captain. What's your name?" Zora saw the way Dennis' eyes flickered over her and she felt a rise of something ... jealousy, relief, anger. She wasn't sure as she shouldn't feel anything.

She walked over to the two others and reaching into Spec Ops pocket she handed a communicator to the girl along with a knife. "Do not kill us or maim us. I'm trusting you to hold your own as we make it to A Level." Zora held her eyes for a moment. "I"m Zora. This is Dennis and Special Operative or Spec Oops."

She glanced at Spec Ops and noticed his arm hanging limply at his side. Almost as if her memories were directing her instead of herself she went to his arm and held it firmly along with his shoulder. "Ready?" She was waiting for his yes so she could pop his shoulder back into place. Something she's done a time or two before. As she waited she stared at Dennis. She had a question for him, but she didn't want to ask in front of everyone. That picture was burning a hole in her pocket.

{We'll pretend we didn't see Aiya. obviously it was my mistake.}

Spec Ops

Spec Ops nodded at Dennis when he apologized for snapping. It was good that he recognized that he even snapped at all.

"Yeah, this arm's been bugging me a bit." he said casually, almost as if it were a mosquito sting.

He looked over at the new girl and nodded when Zora introduced him. He then stiffened as she reached in his pocket for the spare communicator and knife. She hands them to the girl with a warning about not attacking them. She then looks at his arm, noticing it for the first time. He cocks his head slightly as she holds his arm and shoulder in her hands.

"Ready?" she asked him.

"Of course. Just hold onto it. I'll do the rest." he replied.

She changed her grip on his arm. He moved his spare hand to his shoulder, applying pressure to the bone that was obliviously in the wrong place. He gave his arm a vicious yank and pushed on the bone. It snapped back into place with a loud crack. Pain rushed through his arm, but at least it was back in place. The pull he gave his arm, however, had pulled Zora off her feet and sent her collapsing into him. He caught her before she fell and held her up. His hand seemed to move of it's own accord as it trailed along her body. It reached her chin and tilted it up slightly. His eyes looked into hers and he started to lean down.

He then realized what he was doing. A steel wall seemed to fall in front of his eyes as he released her and stepped back.

"Thanks." he said to her, hoping that he referred to his arm. "We should get moving."

Zora knew how to set his arm. She didn't know how but she knew what to do. Before she could tell him she was doing it himself. She tried to brace herself, but he was stronger than she expected and she even knew she should have leaned back a bit. As if she knew his strength. Unfortunately, she didn't heed her own internal warnings and were jerked off her feet. Quicker, than she thought possible she was being righted.

It happened so fast Zora thought she missed the warm look in his eyes. The hand guiding her face up as he started to come towards her. She even leaned into it. Then he stepped back with a flippant thanks and was giving orders. She felt stupid and turned away. "Yeah. Let's go."

Zora had left her weapons in the hallway, so they were just waiting on Spec Ops and Dennis to get what they had brought. Zora motioned for the girl to help out. Zora watched Spec Ops and the girl walked out the door. She intentionally trailed behind the two with Dennis. When she was confident they couldn't hear her she asked him. "So what's with this picture and what exactly are we?" She pulled it out of her pocket and showed it to him. "You had it on you. So don't say you never seen it before. I just want the truth."

Aiya stumbled and then looked at the girl hugging her tightly, her brow furowed as she tried to remember who she was. Images floated in her head.."Crystal?" She whispered low as if terrified of being over heard. She looked frantically behind her, then took her frineds hand and began to tug her towards an air shaft.

The fear in Aiya's eyes was noticable as the low growl and heavy footsteps sounded behind them. Aiya tugged harder onto Crystal's arm. "We have to go...now. They are coming."She whispered wildly, shoving the grate from the airduct.

She pushed Crystal into it and shoved her form behind. "Hurry...we need to hurry."She urged her friend forward as the noises grew closer. "I heard voices from above us earlier..they were human."She added quickly recalling hearing the others voices floating through the vents.

Dennis looked at the photo in Koda's hand and looked at her, he could feel the booklet still in his pocket, but he knew it's the same photo. He didn't know what to tell her, he had the feeling that she knew more than him.

"I don't know what to think Koda, my coveralls' name tags have been ripped off, my locker has been cleared out and only that was left behind in an ID book. The picture makes it obvious that we had some sort of relationship as you knew my name even before I knew it"

Dennis noticed that they had fallen quite a way behind the other two and started to pick up the pace to catch up with them, if they ran into a creature, then at least they stood a chance when they were four and not two

Chaska took the boxy communicator and stuck it in a pocket, then slid the knife into a pouch on the front of her utility vest. “Thanks. My name is Chaska. Chaska Voeller. I think.” Chaska gestured at her grimy jumpsuit. “At least that’s what it says on this, and it fits, so... it must be mine, right?” She paused. “Yeah, it must be mine.”

As Nora worked on Spec Ops’ arm, Chaska’s thoughts wandered to her new companions. Nora. Dennis. Spec Ops. None of them rang any bells in her swiss-cheese memory. But then, if this ship - Pandorum - was half as large as it seemed, there could have been thousands of people aboard, before...

Now there were probably thousands of corpses, dead of starvation or dehydration or... or worse.

Chaska shuddered, forcing her thoughts away from the memories of what she had seen over the past four days. She followed Spec Ops up the hallway, wondering where they were going. “So, Spec Ops? We’re going to the bridge?”

Spec Ops

Spec Ops nodded and moved out into the hallway, keeping an eye out for any additional ghouls that might try to kill someone. None were in sight, which didn't really say much, but he moved along anyway. The new girl, Chaska, walked next to him.

"So, Spec Ops? We're going to the bridge?" she asked.

He paused to pick up the bag of food he had dropped and then glanced over at her.

"That's the plan." he replied flatly.

He noticed Zora ((At least I got the name right, haha.)) and Dennis lagging behind slightly. He looked forward again. They obliviously wanted to be left alone. He moved along still, pausing to pick up Zora's dropped weapons. He took the flame thrower and handed Chaska the flashlight. Glancing behind him, he noticed Dennis moving to catch up, Zora just behind him. He nodded again and started moving toward the stairs.

Alright, now to climb the stairs, fight off hordes of the monsters probably hiding there, get to the bridge, do something about the quarantine, and wait. Not his favorite thing, but he would manage. He also thought that the bridge had sound proof walls, but he wasn't sure. At any rate, if they did, they would at least be able to talk normally, among other things, without half the ship trying to kill them. He looked at Chaska. She did seem like she had been through a lot. She might have even been a little crazy. He would be sure to talk to her when they reached the bridge. He rolled his now replaced shoulder, feeling slight pain. Pain was a good sign. That meant it still worked, and that he was alive. He set his eyes forward, looking for the door leading to the stairwell.

He would also have to talk to Zora when they got there. There was something between them, of that he was sure. After all, he had just tried to kiss her. And she had leaned into it. He sighed inwardly, but remained passive on the outside. If they were lucky, there wouldn't be any odd love was going on. He was curious about the picture, though. He shrugged. All in due time. Maybe it was a fake? Or maybe there wasn't anything between himself and Zora? Not a chance. There was something there. Hopefully it was a fake.

If only things were so simple.

As they came to the door that led to the stairs it refused to open, Dennis stepped forward

"Let's see if I can get something out of this one"

He opened the panel next to the door and flashed light into the panel, everything seemed fine so the problem had to be on the other side. His mind clicked into gear, the only reason that the door would not open is when there is a short circuit on the other side, that was easy to fix...when you're on the other side. Dennis didn't have the right tools with him to get through to the other side of the panel, but there was something he could try. He put his the lamp down, twisting the head upwards to point at the open panel.

Dennis reached in and followed the path of one wire to where it came out of the thin wall separating the the two panels. With a small yank the wire gets cut off against the metal edge. Dennis stepped away from the panel and moved to the door, pulling his knife from it's sheath he slides it between the doors and twists, there is a soft click and the doors slides open. Sheathing his knife Dennis picked up his light and switched it off

"OK let's go"

Zora (my name. thanks Leo. lol) glared at Dennis as he ran ahead to avoid the conversation. She reached into her pocket and tore up the picture. She wasn't sure what was with Dennis and why all his clothes were torn and his things broken, but she didn't wnat to complicate the matter further. She noticed Spec Ops taking her weapons and that he handed the flashlight to Chaska. Though now Spec Ops had too much and Zora had nothing to carry.

When they got to the door she simply took a few of the items from Spec Ops to lighten his load. She watched Dennis do something and when he got the door open she was impressed. She glanced behind them seeing the hallway empty. "Hold on." Zora put her load down and pulled the knife from her belt. She slowly opened the door so it didn't squeak and peeked inside. She was about to say the coast was clear when she saw one of them. On the side of the wall, holding a body, munching down. It looked like a baby. Zora slowly closed the door.

"There's one of them there. A baby I think. I think we can go up the stairs before it realizes we're even there. It's back to the wall." She picked up her items and slowly pushed the door open. She slowly walked up to the first set of stairs leading up and paused. She ducked down and saw the thing still munching. She waved her hand to tell the others to hurry the fuck up.

Spec Ops was quiet. Really quiet, Chaska realized, even though he was carrying more than is share of gear. He moved like a cat, his booted feet making no noise on the deckplates -

Again, Daddy in the doorway filled her thoughts. No noise, silent like a cat... or a ghost. That’s all he was now, a ghost, and ghosts couldn’t hurt her anymore.

But ghouls could.

Dennis poked around in a panel next to a sealed door and, with a few seconds work, managed to open it. “OK, let’s go.”

Zora drew her knife, peeked through the doorway, looked around - and froze. "There's one of them there. A baby I think. I think we can go up the stairs before it realizes we're even there. It's back to the wall."

Chaska’s breath caught in her throat. One of the ghouls, so close? Close enough to hear them to smell them.

Nora waved a hand for them to move through the doorway. Chaska bit back a scream... and stepped through. She tried to block out the sounds of teeth tearing through muscle and sinew; the coppery smell of blood filled her nostrils, making her retch. She kept her eyes forward, barely able to see the tiny creature and its once-human meal from the corner of her eye.

Chaska froze, her hair standing on end - concealed in the shadows in front of her, something was growling.

Dennis was right behind Chaska when she froze, he looked in the direction she was staring and saw the creature there. Thinking quickly he brought his saw up, looking over his shoulder at Spec Ops he motioned towards the creature on their other side. Activating she saw the soft hum drew the creature's attention away from Chaska and in that moment Dennis flashed his lamp on full illumination at the creature. It screamed and lurched away, Dennis swung the saw and caught the creature on it's neck, the creature's scream turned into a gurgle as blood gets spattered in all directions and it's head falls to the ground. The saw also sputters and dies and Dennis drops it as it's now dead weight, he pushed Chaska towards the stairs

"Move"

Dennis drew his knife and turned to see how Spec Ops was doing

Spec Ops

He moved to the locked door. Why do so many things malfunction? Dennis moved up and managed to get it working again. Zora pushed the door open with her knife and warned them of the ghoul inside. If it was only a baby, it shouldn't give them much trouble. They moved through the door, Spec Ops staying closest to the creature, guarding the group. There was a low growl from the shadows. He turned and heard the saw whir up. The buzz caught the beasts attention and he got a high intensity light to the face. He lurched and turned away. Dennis took the opportunity and lopped it's head off with the saw. Unfortunately it died and he dropped it, as it had served it's use.

He turned to the baby, who was suddenly a lot bigger. It was actually bigger than he was. He looked up in it's charcoal black eyes. A curse was forming on his tongue when it attacked. He ducked the blow quickly, rolling behind it and giving it a sharp kick to the back. It staggered forward before turning and lashing out again. Spec Ops ducked again and instead of rolling away, he drew his knife and brought it up into the base of the monsters skull in one swift motion. It gurgled and fell. He stabbed it one more for good measure before turning casually at the group. In truth, these monsters set him on edge. He wasn't trained for this.

He kept on his casual face, though. Had to act like he had everything under control. Helps with moral, which is definately something they needed to make it through this. He looked around and gestured towards the door to the stairwell. They moved through the doorway and started up the stairs. Stopping when they reached the top, A level, they finally ran into a door that was working properly. It slid open quietly. They moved down the corridor towards the front of the ship where the bridge lay in wait. He glanced to his side and found himself walking slightly behind the group with Zora. He looked back forwards, but was painfully aware of how close she was.

As Aiya hugged her, Crystal sighed in relief. She did remember her! Thank god! Suddenly, Aiya pulled away from Crystal and she could hear a low growl coming from behind them. Oh god, they were coming. No, no, no, no, NOOOOOOOOO!!! Crystal knew that once she seperated from Zora she'd get killed. Things like this always happened!

"Hurry...we need to hurry."

Crystal nodded, "DAN, LETS GO!!" She said as rushed up the airvent, Aiya following close behind her. She wasn't sure if Dan was following but she couldn't stop and check because if she stopped that would mean it might catch them. She didn't want that to happen at all.

"I heard voices from above us earlier..they were human."

"Great, thats so great! Hey, maybe it's Zora and maybe, just maybe they have food. Since Dan wouldn't let us find food. Isn't that right Dan?" Crystal was teasing of course, well...sort of. She was still sort of pissed about not being able to find food but at the same time she knew that he was protecting the two of them from the monsters. "Dan? Aiya, is Dan behind you?"

Zora had stayed on the stairs. She wanted to make sure everyone was safe. The second thing came out of the dark and luckily Dennis and Spec Ops took care of it. She hastened up the stairs and walked swiftly. They were finally going to get answers. Much needed answers. Though there was still one problem. The bridge was supposedly on lock down and not even the Captain could override those commands. Which meant one thing?

Zora was thinking as she watched Zora and Chaska. She glanced to her left to see Spec Ops walking and she thought she saw his eyes slide towards her than forward again. Was he checking her out? Zora ignored the thought instead working on the one problem they had. They finally reached the bridge.

Zora kept walking until she was next to David. "David can you overpower the circuits like you did before. The power will cut off and we'll have to pry the doors open." Zora knocked on the door to the bridge. She didn't hear anything, but she said loud enough for those on the other side to hear her. "MY NAME IS ZORA. WE HAVE SUPPLIES. WE ARE GOING TO COME IN. DON'T SHOOT US!" She waited for a moment, but didn't hear anything.

Zora nodded for David to do what he had to do. This time it took longer, but finally the system was overloaded and burnt out. Zora put her fingers in between the cracks and started to pull. The doors barely bulged. She kept pulling though, trying to open it more. She glanced back at the group and her face froze. There were things behind them.

Spec Ops

He watched as Dennis overloaded the lock again. Shouldn't there be backup generators for this door? He shook his head and turned to watch the hallway behind them. He heard the electric pop and turned to see Zora pulling the doors apart. There was a sound behind them. He turned. Ah, hell.

"This could be bad." he said to the group behind him.

There were at least five of the creatures in the hallway blocking them off. He turned back to the door. Zora was still struggling with it, her efforts renewed by the appearance of the ghouls.

"We're out of time." he said. He moved her out of the way and pried the door open himself. He pushed them into the room and threw all of the weapons and food save the flame thrower and his two knives. He looked above the door and heard movement behind him. He needed to be quick. He spotted what he needed: a small black box above the door. He gave it a good thud with his fist. It sparked and the backup generator kicked in. He looked in at the group as the doors started closing and had to push Zora back in when she tried going out of the room through the closing doors. He pushed her back in one more time before they were to small for her to get through. He turned as the opening became a crack and delivered a roundhouse to the small creature behind him. He picked up the flamethrower and covered them in a burst of fire. It sparked, and died. He looked at the now useless weapon in his hands.

"Blast."

The two ghouls still standing started towards him. He wouldn't be able to take on both of them. He looked around and spotted a ventilation shaft. He looked between the two. He'd rather take his chances in there. He dropped the weapon, threw a punch into the closest ghoul's face, and dove through the grate that blocked off the shaft. He fell, and landed on his back, driving the air from his lungs. He vaguely heard surprised shouts when he hit the ground. He opened his eyes. Two women were standing over him. One was Crystal, whom he had been with earlier, and the other he didn't know the name, but understood that she was the assistant medical officer on board. Convenient that this little "fall" would drop him right on top of them. He noticed Dan wasn't here either. Curious.

"Yes?" he grunted as he stood up. He looked above him into the face of one of the ghouls. That's bad. He grabbed the two women and gave them a shove down the corridor.

"Move." he ordered.

He followed and heard two distinct thumps behind them. Why was he always getting chased by these things? Oh yeah. He was being chased because he decided to be a hero. He sighed. Great. Surprisingly, he had only really cared about helping Zora. The others had just been there when he did so. Would they even care he had left? Did he care if they did? Probably not. He pulled the two into a dark room with him. It was empty, thankfully. He backed into the deeper shadows, pulling the two with him. He kept a hand over both of their mouths as the two creatures passed by. He released the two, relieved that they weren't dead. He looked at them and asked quietly:

"So, where were you two heading?"

The door wasn't opening. It wasn't opening! And the things were getting closer! They were stalking towards them as if they sensed their prey couldn't go anywhere. Zora was trying to pull on the door, but she couldn't get it to budge that much. She was pushed out of the way and Spec Ops resumed her position. She watched his muscles buldge and the door slowly grated against the floor. That sent the things growling and they dropped to their hands and knees coming at them.

Zora was so focused on the things and trying to get the flame thrower to work she was caught off guard when Spec Ops pushed her into the room. She noticed everyone had scrambled in before her. "The weapons! Food!" Zora went to get the items and was forced back into the room once more by Spec Ops who then threw the contents to her, smashed a box, and the door started to close. Zora waited for Spec Ops to come through, but he wasn't squeezing through. "What are you doing?!" The doors steadily got smaller and Zora realized he planned to martyr himself. Fine she was going with him. She squeezed through and he pushed her back. "Dammit!"

She would have said more, but what more could she say. The door closed with a resounding thud and she knew Spec Ops was being eaten alive. "Crystal! Dan" Zora realized they had locked the girl out. "And worse if they came now they would be the main course. Zora's face fell, but quickly hardened. She'll get answers and help.

It was darker here, but she could see light further ahead. Zora strode through the room towards the light realizing it was the console that was aglow and pretty much nothing else. "Hello!" Zora paused and she started to get a queasy feeling. No one was here. The room was empty. No captain. No answers. "Someone!?!"

Dennis Graham

Dennis looked around, Zora had moved towards the light, but Dennis gave his eyes time to adjust first...then switched on the flood lamp. Moving it around he scanned the bridge, it just looked...deserted. His body started to move on it's own violation and he noticed that there was a panel half open and sparking, it stood out in contrast with the rest of the bridge as it seemed sabotaged.

Placing the lamp on the ground he opened up the panel's door and checked the damage. Flipping the switches off, the sparking died down and Dennis started to separate the wires, his mind starting to remember color codes, pairs, streams and Zora moaning in pleasure. His head snapped up and he looked over at Zora, but she was still busy inspecting the console, she have been there before, just...not in clothes...Dennis shook his head to clear the images rushing through his mind. He turned his attention back to the console, using the knife to strip wires and connecting them, wishing he had an isolation gun that would seal them up again. Finally he finished and noticed that Chaska was standing nearby, watching him closely, he smiled at her

"Doing what comes naturally"

He laughed softly and went back to inspecting the fuses, he found a few burned out ones and replaced them from the spare box, noticing that there was not much left and needed to be refilled by Maintenance. Taking a breath he flicked the switches on and was rewarded as most of the lights first started to flicker to life, to reveal a bridge that looks like it had been just...deserted. More switches and consoles started to flicker to life, Dennis carefully closed the panel and walked over to one console that he recognized. His mind started to spew out a string of commands and his hands obeyed and typed those codes into the console, suddenly a voice came over the speaker system

"Hull...intact, Cryo chambers...compromised, Main Generator...offline, Backup system...offline, Life support..*******, Main engines...offline, Secondary Engines..*******, Navigational computer..*******"

Dennis watched as more consoles came to life and the voice spoke up again

"Alien lifeforms detected, warning, Alien lifeforms detected. Launching Protocol 89. Warning Alien lifeforms detected. Launching Protocol 89"

"No shit?"

Dennis murmured this under his breath as the voice fell silent again, he turned and leaned against the console

Aiya was confused, she thought she knew the woman in fron of her but the images were still hazy in her mind. The man,Dan,behind her was a total no namer. But she knew from the way Crystal talked to him he was a dickhead. he glanced back over her shoulder as they crawled through the vent. He was just a dark shadow crawling behind them until they floor of the vent gave way and they dropped into another room. They all grunted and rolled over to their feet, looking up Aiya saw Spec Ops. Before they had much time to do anything he was shoving them through the door and into the hallway, the growls much closer.

Aiya felt Dan bump into her back and turning she glared up at him. He seemed to not care about anyone else but himelf. She stumbled through the door and was pushed aside by Dan,letting a low growl escape her lips she grabbed his arm and shoved him hard. She watched as he stumbled and fell back into the room, the room where the things were. She saw the surprised look on his face then it was replaced with pure stark terror. She moved quickly as the things began to fill the room, they seemed to erase Dan from her sight as she turned and ran. Her hand grabbing Crystal and pulling her after her as Spec Ops led them.

Suddenly they were pulled into a dark crevice and his hands covered each of their mouths as they heard the things lumbering past, she could almost touch them from how close they past them by,could smell the rank smell of rot and decay on them. Her eyes were wide as she glanced over at Crystal, then to Spec Ops. Somehow she felt a twinge of guilt for leaving Dan behind, her medical upbringing tellingher she had just caused a human to die. She shook, her hand still holding tight to Crystals.

She could hear them both following behind her and knew that if she talked anymore, they would follow them. While they crawled through the vent's it gave way and then BAM, they fell through and crashed in a room. THEY were there however and suddenly spec ops pushed them into the room. However, where was Dan.

Oh shit, where was Dan? "Guys, wheres dan? Guys, I think we're missing Dan." Sudden flashes of a time that she didn't think she'd ever remember started coming back to her. Oh god, she was starting to remember a little. That was her...her...Crystal shook her head.

She and Dan they'd broken up because she was too controlling? No, he was too controlling? No, no they were both too controlling. There was never a happy medium. They'd been in love, yeah but she had always been an independent woman and didn't want anyone not even her boyfriend be in control of her.

"Shit, guys let him in!" Crystal yelled

Zora looked around as the room filled with light and a computer voice. She listened to the information and when it started talking about alien life form she wanted to scream, 'No shit sherlock,' instead she sat down. "Computer?" Zora waited. There was supposed to be some sort of AI on the ship. "Computer, fucking hell COMPUTER!"

"Yes."

"You are the AI on this vessel."

"Yes."

"What are you called."

"You used to call me PAL. Pandorum's Artifical Intelligence."

"Okay Pal, can you tell me what's going on."

"Negative, my system is malfunctioning."

"How long has it been malfunctionoing."

"Over 200 years."

Zora paused. That didn't make sense. Pal was going to be a problem if it's calendar year resetted. This was going to be a waste of time. Zora sighed in frustration. "Report what you remember right before the system malfunction."

"When we landed my system jammed. I tried to wa-"

"Landed," Zora interrupted. "We're in space."

"Technically," Pal said.

That made no sense, but she would let the computer continue. "Continue."

"I tried to wake the crew. I was at half power. I managed to wake a good portion of the crew. Over time they started killing eachother, then killing the ones who hadn't woken up yet, they started eating them."

Zora sat up in her chair. "Are you telling me those things those aliens are the crew?"

"Yes. They mutated over the years to the alien life form now."

Dennis Graham

Dennis listened to PAL and Zora talking and some things started to snap into place.

"PAL wasn't there some sort of drug used on the crew?"

"Yes, it was a drug which sped up adaptability"

"Fuck basically evolution on fast track"

"Yes that is correct"

More and more started to make sense to Dennis

"So the thing is because they were stuck in darkness, forced to eat human flesh they became..."

"Alien lifeforms"

"Adapted to hunt in the dark by sounds and stronger, faster and more resilient than their prey"

"Yes that is correct"

Suddenly a thought occurred to Dennis

"PAL did you attempt to land even with the malfunction?"

"Negative"

"You said technically we are in space, that should mean that we are in orbit"

"Negative"

Dennis looked at Zora

"PAL can you activate the viewing ports?"

"Affirmative, activating...camera's online"

The whole wall suddenly springs to live, but only shows darkness

"Forward lights"

The lights pierces through the darkness showing that the ship is resting on rocks and sediment ground, particles twirls through the lights in the ocean currents. Dennis could only stare at the sight in front of him, he turned to one console and started typing in a string of commands, he read the read out and started to swear softly. He turned to Zora

"The engines are out, they have been flooded and the airlocks is what kept us dry, I can get the main generator to work, but it will be a manual job"
