Today I was chatting with my best friend Desdemona about flying and packing.

Does anyone know if it is permissable to back things like cuffs and dildos in your luggage? Will the person doing so get in any trouble?

Do any of you want to help us out on what we should pack for this little holiday trip? By the way, we are not visiting each other. We are discussing visiting a distant lover of the opposite sex.

The last thing this flyer would want is a scene in the airport regarding her kinks. All help is welcome from all of you. ~smile~

I've stopped taking toys along - cause the last 4 times I've flown I've been personally searched - and my luggage has twice that I've known about! Scary thought!

Although some friends told me go ahead and pack the vibrator (or whatever) and if they search it they search it!

You could always call your airline - hopefully get a woman operator - and ask what their policy is on that kind of thing!

I don't know for sure, but I think that if it's in your checked luggage, it should be permissible. Just be ready in case your luggage gets searched in the airport. :D Personally, I wouldn't put anything of that nature in my carry on bag.

Thank you ladies.

Des and I agree that maybe silk ties would be a better choice than the cuffs.

;-)

Hi April. good to see you are home again. ;-)

I remember a news story not too many months ago about this lady who's bag was searched and they found her vibrator in it. She said they humiliated her and she was going to sue.

Just keep that in mind, that if they find it they might start waving it around like its some weapon. Be prepared that they might not be very understanding of your privacy.

take all batteries out of vibes, and use silk ties, or something instead of cuffs. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be allowed to bring a dildo with you... y'gotta have SOME fun on your business trips!

Tell des I said hi when you get there :D

Unfortunately we are not seeing each other. This is about a trip to see a lover, for one of the 2 of us. ~smile~

LMAO, a weapon, huh? You know, to be honest I am not sure I would be that embarrassed. Maybe more amused than anything else.

Who said this was business, doll? LMAO.

And yes, batteries out. Note made. Thanks.

you can bring the cuffs if you pack them on the registred luggage.
Or buy a new set at destination with your ... buisness

mmmm I am thinking I like the buying them there idea.

He wants a razor brought along too. But I am sure that won't be a major problem in the checked luggage.

I have however, heard stories about nail clippers and crochet hooks on planes. That just boggles my mind. I am not sure I could sit on a plane for 4 hours and not do something with my hands. Oops...... lmao. I guess I can think of something to do.

I think if the cuffs are packed in your luggage that goes into the hold, they should be ok.

i VERY seriously doubt you would be able to take them as carry on luggage.

The only thing stopping you with toys, is the embarresment factor when they go through the x-ray machines.

Also depending on the shape of them, the bag may be opened for inspection.

As cuffs are actually illegal in the state I live in (no, not drunken state :p) i am not sure if i would be able to have them in my luggage at all.

Thank you QD

Yes, we agree that he can spring for the cuffs. ~smile~ And the best part is they will be there for the return trip, too.

The story is even worse than that. The vibrator was found in the baggage she checked in. They put the bag on the tarmac next to the plane, brought the woman down, and had her rummage through the baggage and then hold it up for everyone — including passengers — to see.
Yes, she's going to sue.

Yes, she's going to sue.

As indeed she should.

Ask WriterDom. He had a good mention on this subject in the Mother Thread. I believe he said that he purchased an archery case because it held everything, including a short spreader bar, without so much as a twitched eyebrow.

Just check it, don't carryon. You'll regret carrying-on.

Yes I am definately not carrying anything of queston on the plane. And thanks, for the post KM.

You should check anything you wouldn't want displayed in front of your fellow passengers. In this case, I would remove the batteries from a vibe so it wouldn't be accidently turned on by the shock of baggage handling.

If you take the vibe as carry on luggage, leave the batteries in. If a search turns up almost anything electrical, they will ask you to turn it on to prove it is really what it looks to be. Without batteries, you would have the choice of leaving it at the airport, requesting the captain's permission to bring it on his airplane, or waiting for a technician to certify that it is not a weapon.

I agree that the cuffs should stay in the toy box at home.

If they do search your baggage (or your person), you have the right to have it done in private.

Speaking as someone who's experienced air travel in the last six weeks, I say you're better off driving. :p
