There wasn't a fight. There was shouting and posturing.

The guy with the shotgun clearly fires when the guy is turning away, though you can't really make out what provokes the first shots with the pistol
If I was judge and jury, I'd say the father was a fucking moron, but the son is a murderer. The son, with the shotgun, is hiding behind daddy, with the pistol, the entire encounter but his body language is far more aggressive. Scared and too much need to prove his manliness.
The victim isn't innocent, the father wants to force the other guy to back down because he doesn't want to be seen to back down, and the son shouldn't be allowed out for a very long time.

That's my read on it anyway.

It's worth watching for the body language.
The big guy has no intention of attacking for most of the encounter. He's just barking loud because he feels like he's in the right and his family is threatened.
The dad is pissing himself, his face says he knows he's in the wrong, but it's too late to back out. He doesn't want to lose face, and I suspect that when the camera is turned away, he fires warning shots as a desperation move to try to make the big guy walk away. The gun is down at his side, and he doesn't look happy to have it.

But the son? He's the shady one. Picking up a big gun to hide behind daddy with. Pointing it and posing with it. Firing to kill when there was no need. He wants an excuse. It's inevitable with some people.

The son will get eaten alive in prison. Without the gun and his daddy, he's got nothing to back up his posturing with.

Texas is new to open carry and a little restrictive compared to some others. Since the cities are mostly Democrat it took a while to catch on. Mostly ignored in the country but that's cuz aint nobody out there but you and the coyotes and drug dealers. I didn't see no holster on old dude so I'm guess he was in violation to begin with. Kid had a shotgun so as long as he's legal then that's allowed.
