Oops, I f'd up.. Seattle GT is actually 18th

Sorry about this all. I was looking at the calender wrong. at myself. The GT has always been planned for the weekend before Windpoet was leaving... ridiculously enough I was looking at the wrong month. The actual date will be the 17th or 18th. Friday night or Saturday night. Again.. sorry about that.

we should have a line with the NYC get together. This way we can communicate with the festivities. Ours is starting at 7 which would be 4pm your time. However if we set up a coference call at 12 or 1am eastern time it might be a hoot.

Some advice try to stick with a specific date and place. You might only get anywhere from 1 to five people the first time out, but just enjoy it.

Good luck on your get together. There are a lot of wonderful people from lit and it is great to meet face to face.

I am way too new here to organize one.

But if anyone wants to organize one, I hope they would have one in San Diego.

some place. Why not open a thread up asking for a get together in San Francisco. If I recall On the Verge one of the first people I met from here in NY is now living there I think. HMMMM or is it San Diego?

So start a thread. San Fransico get together jan 18th. Then in post ask if anybody is interested or what not. We could all see how many of these things we could have in one night for those that can't make it to NYC or Seattle.

Thanks for the advice and thoughts Tulip I do totally appreciate it. I think it would be a blast to set up a conference call between us. I have free long distance and time on my cell during the weekends, so as far as a connection from our side I could provide it.

It looks that we're going to be starting around 7:30-8pm on our side. This provides an hour and a half of more quiet time before the music and dancing starts at the place I had chose. Sooo.. that'd be about 10:30 your time. Do your GT's last that long, think people will still be gathered around then?

I know what you mean about only a couple people showing.. I remember when I started doing GT's on another board I was on, the first time I think we had 3, the next, about 10, from there on, I don't think we ever had less than about 20 people. I dunno if there's that many people from the Seattle area on Lit. But its great how things grow like that.

rooms in NYC. I am not sure if there will be a group hang out since it seems like several want to be scarce after dinner. Can you blame them. OK now I need to find a person willing to give up cell phone number that is attending. Islandman?????

I do not have one. Less of a way of people finding me when I am out and about.

Yeah, I can understand that one.. ....... I'm sure someone will have a cell, .. just out of pure curiousity, which restraunt are you planning on going to? I like the idea of having GT's at places like restraunts where you can easily talk and get to know one another, but on the same note, I've found that people like doing things besides just eating and talking. Guess I'm kind of just throwing it out there for some input since others have done this organization thing more than I have.

We usually start off

at a restuarant. Then assign a bar we will be at until a specific time like 10. This is for those who do not want to eat or afford dinner or works late. After that we cannot guarantee where we are off to. It can be a bdsm club. Another bar or back to the hotel. After that those remainding goes to somebody's room and we hang out drink, laugh, talk or whatever in the room. On the fifth we had about 8 of us that had lunch the next day.

As you know sometimes you just have to let things take its course and such.

It sounds like a lot of fun. I can only hope that we can eventually have GT that go that well in the Seattle area. One mistake that I've made now, that I won't make in the future, is not posting until I have all the details worked out. lol. I figure at this point all I can do is make a thread with all the final details in the end. The main reason I've been changing things is for different people to be able to make it.
Hmmmmm... anways.. thank you for all the help, input, advice. This first one will get worked out, and hopefully the ones afterwards will run nice and smoothly.
