The Male Rettue Breeder:

To Die, or Not To Die...
That is the Question​

Adult male Rettues fall into two categories, "Immature" and "Mature":

• Note about terminology: the method of describing Rettue as "Immature" and "Mature" is not the same as describing Humans as being "<18" and ">18". "Immaturity" and "Maturity" -- and the sexual activity that comes with it -- are a physiological distinction that doesn't even begin to appear until the Rettue have reached at least 23 Earth Years in age.
• Immature:
  • Immature Rettue males are capable of partaking in sexual activity -- with their own kind or with humans -- but are not capable of impregnating their female partners.
  • As with their Mature Rettue counterparts -- and human ones, too! -- sex is enjoyable.
  • Within their own species, sex is an act of bonding and reproduction only. Rettue do not engage in sex simply for the pleasure of it unless it is done with their own Mate, the Rettue they have been matched with for the rest of their lives; and they never have sex with a Rettue other than their Mate, even if that Mate dies. Many Rettue have gone to the grave chaste.
  • This creates an interesting situation concerning the Humans:
    • On one hand, celibacy is engrained in Rettue society.
    • On the other hand, the Rettue Council of Elders promotes sex between their Immature Rettue males and as many Human females as they can bed. The Council has a goal, and getting the human females to part their thighs for their Mature males is not just desirable, but absolutely necessary.
• Mature:
  • Mature Rettue males are capable of impregnating their female partners, Rettue and Human alike.
  • The shift between "Immature" and "Mature" can come at any point in a Rettue's life, but it almost always takes place between the ages of 22 and 26, Earth Years.
  • "Maturing" is a rapid event, taking only a few hours. The Rettue's body begins sending him signals, and -- after a painfully shocking conversion -- he is "Mature" and capable of conceiving children.
  • A Mature Rettue male breeds once. Once! And, hours later, he is dead. He has served his purpose.
  • Sex for a Mature Rettue, as it is with his breeding partner, is an incredibly enjoyable act. Evolutionary, it has to be: if you knew your current fuck was going to be your last fuck and it wasn't going to feel good, would you even pull out your dick?
