Or so it seems that way where I work. Today, on of my co-workers was let go for sexual harrasment. He was a bit crass and made the most inappropriate comments about every females body, so he deserved to get fired. No one should be made to feel uncomfortable in their place of business. A few months ago, another gentleman was dismissed for the same thing. Here's the deal, they are both what most women would consider unattractive men. One, was missing his front teeth and had the most terrible BO, while the other looked like Lurch on crack.
I guess that wouldn't be the issue, except there are a few other men and women who the exact same thing but they are considered good looking people. No one seems to mind if they make any sexual innuendoes or even sometimes touch another person. I think I am also guilty of discriminating a bit, when one of the guys who was fired would make comments to me, I wanted to hurl, but when this Matt Damon look alike says something in the same context to me, I feel that his comments are still inappropriate but I just shrug it off like it's no big deal.
Do you think Clarence Thomas would have been up for charges if he looked like Denzel Washington? Am I the only one who notices this?

Nope

Human nature.

Oh, and take a look at your
boss,
their boss,
and their boss

Bet you find a resemblance.

The funniest thing I ever heard come from Chris Rocks' mouth. That's the VERY line I thought of when I read the thread title.

Hmm, interesting question, Eve. As an exotic dancer, I get hit on all the time at work. If a guy or gal is hot, I'll give him or her my phone number and sometimes we hook up. I'm not a hooker, but I don't mind the occasional fling with an attractive customer, even though it's technically against club rules, they can't really dictate whom I decide to date outside of work. Sometiomes I'll even date an ugly one if he's sweet and charming, not crude and lecherous. I've fooled around with a few of the other female dancers in the back rooms of the club, too, and the bouncers generally look the other way about that. Especially if we let him WATCH!

If I'm not attractd to a guy or girl, be they a coworker, customer, or someone I meet outside of work, I politely turn them down, and that's usually the end of it, just as with anyone who hits on you in ANY social situation when you're not interested. At the club, if they become adamant and belligerent, I call a bouncer over; only had to do that twice in eight years (once with a female coworker who was overheated watching me dance, and once with a drunken male customer)!

I just think it's interesting that there is such a double standard, I remember my first job, our manager use to pinch our butts, but no one seemed to bat an eye because he was a very good looking man, he looked like a young Marlon Brando, I doubt we would have been as flattered if he looked like Marlon Brando of today.
