"On the Job" Story Event 2022

I am now editing my submission. It is set during a university psychology experiment, so the 'employees' are students, if that is okay.
Individual readers might comment after it has posted that they don't think it's OK, but there's no gatekeeper for these between submission and posting, so it's your decision. History indicates it would be rare for anyone to comment on whether it met the theme. This is a writing exercise, not a competitive contest.

I think many students are paid a small amount to be in psychology studies. Just mention that detail as true in this case, and they will qualify as employees. They may be "gig workers" of a sort, but they are still doing it for pay.

Huh, sort of makes me want to break out my White Trash gang.

Too bad I can’t submit my last story which occurred completely on the job. :)
I've started to read your White Trash series. As a reader, I'm curious about a couple of details. The narrator complains about his foreman, but do you ever mention what kind of job he has? No matter how menial the work is, the people doing it usually like to talk - and gripe - about the nitty-gritty of whatever it is they have to do. Also, where is this trailer park located? It might be nice to get some regional flavor into it the stories. If you just want it to be somewhere in generic mid-America, maybe Ohio would work. (Hey, I have nothing against Ohio!)

Oh damn, this is the thread for the 2021 story event.

That series was super fun to write. First two chapters, ignored for a year, then the last two in an AH challenge contest.

In the first chapter I called it a hog house. I used it as slang to mean a hog/pig slaughter hose processing plant. The musing was sort of in a how did I end up here sort of way.

As far as location, nowhere specific, but probably unconsciously southeast as I recall reading articles about that region and pig farming. A google tells me NC, MN and Iowa are big players.

Thanks for reading them and reaching out with questions!

Yeah, slaughterhouses and meat-processing plants have to be among the worst places to work. (Remember Upton Sinclair's The Jungle - 1906?) Seems like a lot of Latinos wind up in them now. Coal mines, when they still existed, I believe offered better pay in more recent times, but I'd have to check on that.

Are chaptered stories allowed?
The story that I've been working on is near complete, either 3 chapters of 27k, 25k and 12k words, or five if I split the first two in half.

Our main character and two others are staff at a summer camp. I guess it would be three chapters of EC then two of group sex, unless the last went to BDSM?

It was meant to be a simple story for Summer Loving last year, but got out of hand. There's going to be another similar amount of words to completely get to whether I want, but that's separate (and will probably take another year...) Anyone interested in a beta-read of it, please get in touch.

Would it be okay to have a story about a home-based employee?

My planned story is about a pretty young nanny, where the father can't stop perving on her.

Sure. It's the various takes folks take on the exercise that is the most important. My entry is going to be about a guy who walks behind a garbage truck (for an unusual reason). That's not set in an office.

I suspect there are going to be quite a lot of stories appearing all at once on April 18. Usually, things are spread out more than that but, hey, I can live with it.

Looking good to get my story done on time. A month ago I thought I might be able to get two done, but shit happened and now I'm back to focusing on one.

Can we submit our stories before the 18th or do we have to wait?
Also.. can I submit more than one story for this challenge?
This will be my first time submitting a story to any of the challenges. :)

Yes, yes and welcome!

If you submit early it will be held for release on the 18th, so long as you put the OnTheJob tag in the Notes to Admin section.
I submitted mine last night. Just gotta wait now!

8 stories have already been pre-approved for 4/18. So if you submit yours early, keep track of track of what happens to it.

I'll wait. It's better for all of us, I think, if the author takes responsibility for keeping track of posting schedules for his/her stories rather than expecting the submission process to do so.

Erotic Couplings:
Lovecraft_lore2

Hi,

Mine is submitted. I submitted it as an interracial instead of Erotic coupling. Good luck everyone. Another fun one completed.

Also, I used one of the tags to mark it 'on the job' in addition to the note to admin.

Mine is showing as pre-approved on my 'Pending' tab so I presume it's been read over and good to go! I am excited.

OK, I have a five-chapter story ready to go. EC and Group Sex. I'll post it after I post another story with the same protagonist.

Whether it makes the cut or not, I’d love to give that one a look.

In Mature, I just saw the stories for the On the Job Challenge, and it looks like the date has already gone by. I thought we had from April 18th to the 25th to submit. I didn't read where the dates had changed.
