On this auspicious day, 02/02/02, about one year after I joined Lit, I'm finally going to reach 100 posts and get my Av! I've been a picky poster, which accounts for why it's taken me so damn long.

Now of course, once I reach 100 posts, watch me have technical difficulties, as well as someone telling me I've copied their av....

Nevertheless, here I go! One more post after this!

Not unlike many of you who read stories on Lit, I'm just going to have to do it myself - respond to my own post. Here I go. I'm over the top.

WOOO HOOOOO!

BITE ME - HARD!

Control Panel - Edit Profile - ISN'T THAT WHERE YOU ATTACH YOUR AV?! I've cruised around all the other options - can't find anything.

PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!

Control Panel, Edit Options, New Av? Yes. Browse if on your pc.

Link if somewhere else. (Internet)

yes, but there's more to it. There is a thread over in How To that may help, but in brief:

The image must be no more than 150x150 pixels and no more than 20kb in size (It tells you that where you upload them in your control panels.)

It's unlikely you're using the wrong formats, but possible, so to be on the safe side make sure it's a ".jpg" image since you can compress those to fit the limits nicely, and be aware that lit's software is picky about the extensions.

I GOT IT!

Now please don't tell me someone else has used this av!

Thanks Wiggles and LukkyKnight! The FAQs do NOT explain exactly how to do this. I always read Help first before having a temper tantrum, I assure you!

Mmmm,very interesting.

No,don't tell me,I'll work it out.:)

A little discourse on shoes, in the form of some quotes:
"You men out there probably think you already know how to dress for success. You know, for example, that you should not wear leisure suits or white plastic belts and shoes, unless you are going to a costume party disguised as a pig farmer vacationing at Disney World."

Dave Barry, "How to Dress for Real Success"
"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes."

Mark Twain
"Arithmetic is being able to count up to twenty without taking off your shoes."

Mickey Mouse
MR PRITCHARD: I must dust the blinds and then I must raise them.
MRS OGMORE-PRITCHARD: And before you let the sun in, mind it wipes its shoes.

Dylan Thomas, Under Milk Wood

Lukky - those are brilliant and timely! You've been saving those just for the right occasion, haven't you?

I chose the av because that would be me: wearing "CMFM" shoes on a river bank and falling in head first - waiting for someone to save me!

You didn't dive right in? You need rescuing? A bona fide distressed damsel? How lucky is that? Hold your breath, just let me shrug off this metal suit first or we'll both look pretty foolish when they fish us out of there...

Congrats on 100! I'm about 1/3 of the way there by now, but I've only been posting a little more than a week so I think I'm doing well. Maybe by the end of the month....now all I need to do is try to choose one image from any in the world that truly represents "me" :D
