people shouldn't be surprised spain isn't dominating, this is their young B squad. it's not like this is the same team that kicked major ass in the euro cups matches

Oh. I really haven't been paying that much attention. Just turned it on this afternoon and caught the tail end of both matches.
 
I was watching water polo a little bit ago and have come to realize that that is just not a spectator sport. It looks like a ton of fun to play but is incredibly boring to watch.
Very much looking forward to the gymnastics.
Swimmng has the potential to be very interesting this year. Curious to see how that all turns out. Phelps looked totally lost. As if the very concept of coming in fourth was beyond him. Make me wonder if he'll really turn it on or if it will destroy him.

I've heard water polo is a really nasty, dirty game. Can't see what people are doing underwater.

Agreed about swimming. I was surprised by the Phelps loss also.

His post-race interview was just weird. Like he couldn't believe it had actually happened.

the one thing i know about water polo is this:

it's. fucking. hard!
it might look like it's mostly treading water but i damn near drown playing that shit for only 10 minutes

I didn't see it, but I can believe he was in shock. He must have had supreme confidence going into the race and been gobsmacked coming out of it.

I've just messed around a little, but yeah. I've never been an especially strong swimmer, and I get winded fast in the water anyway.
 
No one should have to work for a medal! What's the world coming too!:rolleyes:
 
How's the investigation about 8.8 million ticket sales going? All those empty seats were most likely corporate-related and now they want the tickets back.

Understandable. Most of the events should have as many spectators as the volleyball events. But as NBC revealed, there are tons of empty seats that any sports-lover would kill to have.

CHINA, knock it off!
