I find a direct correlation with time getting ghosted to the extinction of the dodo. I was never ghosted before the ultimate death of that dumb little bastard. I don’t know what he did, but when he was alive, things were smooth sailing for old pmann.

Another thing... the term ghosting is stupid. It doesn’t make sense. Ghosts come back and haunt. They don’t just disappear. What you have is called getting dumped, combined with being ignored.

I read all posts here, one more time, and I'd say: I am not surprised!
When anyone writes a post containing thoughts contrary to mainstream thinking, all sorts of people come out of the woodwork, most of whom too lazy to read. And of those who do read, many too lazy to engage their brain for thinking independently.
So one finds such profound writings like yours, fairly soon and easily. Must be that certain key words attract post bashers with a vengeance.
I wonder what happened to curious people who came here ages ago, ready to learn something from other people's thought?

re-stating my original thesis again
My thesis has been confirmed by the way this supposed "discussion" has evolved on this thread.
Somebody posts a thought unfamiliar to others here, and instead of others aiming to profit from it, trying to understand the meaning and the implications of it, and starting a rational discussion on it, a pack of Playground hyenas here attacks the thought and the poster himself.
By ridiculing the words of the OP and via personal slander. Very similar to that shameful performance last Tuesday in Cleveland.
I do not claim to know everything, and I also don't claim that Kurt Andersen is America's best and most accurate sociology historian, the way he interpreted the 40 last fateful years of demise of political culture in USA. And how he tried to answer the question of "how come?". BUT he does offer some explanations I had not been aware of, before I began reading his book.
Explanations I am sure more than only I could profit from. BUT NO, on the Playground, attempts to discuss anything new in a serious manner, get yelled down by lazy minds incapable of reading. And unwilling to deploy their brains for something new and maybe a bit provocative.
We are right now witnessing in public, where such thinking leads, or could lead to, in the worst case. In the country I was born, this lead to the burning of controversial books, 87 years ago, with the supposed elite of the country – university students – inciting this riot.
