Oh Que!

While I type I am giving the cat that has medicine from a syringe into her mouth her syringe. She loves it, and is grabbing at it with her paws. :). I wish she took her worming tablet so willingly. ;)

Easier than injections. I had to inject a sick cat twice a day for a week for a friend who was on vacation. The cat was not my friend, and vice versa.

I bet that is adorable!

I bet kitty hated seeing you coming!

Drive by posting while enjoying some killer street tacos on the South-side.

Probably no where close to me (sigh!) Tacos are considered 'ethnic' up here, perhaps. So if restaurants sell them at all (restaurant = tavern) , they make them taste as dull ('American') as possible.

That's kind.

I think its really funny when they make a huge fuss about something then are really fine immediately afterwards for a treat :). Its hard not to laugh at them.

That's right, there was a treat afterwards. No pets myself, but I love other peoples pets. Even with the most reserved dogs and cats-- I melt their little hearts. Is that what animal magnetism is?

:D

I think its practicality. At the weekend I saw a really cut little dog. I was all maternal feeling.....I had ' the want' . But I keep saying ' no more, no more'. It will be difficult though, because little guy is a 'dog's dog' and he will out live my girl dog. :(. I might have to reconsider one day in the future....but at least not now at least.

Is your girl dog not well, or old? That's sad. I took a quick look into the recent past and it seems your thinking of a horse, too?

Well, yes, and no. Yes I think about it, and then I think, no, no, no. :D. I depends which way the wind blows :D

Girl dog is not 'old' but certainly no spring chicken any more either and well for now, but her favourite activity is to sit on the sofa and watch tv ( she likes programmes about animal rescue, things where animals fall over or look stupid and dog shows or field trials) or going for car journeys. She no longer likes to do much work, and makes it very clear. :D. I look to the future to try and think ahead what to do for the best. Instead I just worry about things I cannot an for.

The horse, if we got one we would get two. We have a few knocking about the place already, but it would only make sense if we got two. And I am not sure if it does. Next year I might see if I can get used to driving a friend's cob and see how the reality of it feels. When I tried before it felt so unnatural to me. I felt how a lot of people who dislike riding have said they feel, like I was out of control and I did not like the movement. I finally understood that feeling. :). But now I think maybe I should try again. *shrug* I am very indecisive about the whole thing.

Just think-- that's how people used to travel. Descriptions of travel from back then sound like horror stories to us. But that didn't keep people from traveling in the 19th century. You could go on a trip!

Your dog watches animal rescue TV for the same same reason we watch stupid sitcoms. We all like to see creatures more hapless than ourselves!

A Que sighting!!

I love animals. I have a little Westie. I always wanted horses but no room here in the suburbs. I did take riding classes in college. Loved them!

Exactly. She loves agility too. :D

Yes, I 'do be thinking of swapping out a good deal of my local travel to that. When I was a kid my friend's and I excited whole summers going anywhere and everywhere on ponies/ horses. My life can be paced so I have the time to. :).

We'll see. I saw a lovely horse who I really do like, but he'd be almost impossible to find a pair for, and i would want a pair. If I find a pair that was right I'd probably be more proactive about it. or at least make a decision.

That makes me think of Iceland. I've been there three times, but haven't gone out on a pony yet. I haven't since I was a kid. In rural areas people ride all the time, for work and play. It's a beautiful country and that would be a great way to see it.

Time would see to be a big factor.

These were authentic as they get this side of the border. the carnitas were nicely carmelized and served with onions salontro and tomatillo sauce.

You haven't forgotten us!!!

Try as I might that is an impossibility. I frequently forget which way is North what my name is the day of the week and how many hours I have been at it.

Peeka-boo.

I heartily recommend trying an Icelandic ! The extra paces are great fun, and while they are not my 'dream horses' they are dear people. The tolt pace is just so much fun and comfortable. :D.

That 'fun and comfortable' would be good for me since I haven't been riding for years... decades. I want to do this in Iceland, which I love. Until then, if I can convince my wife we should have a dog!

I haven't been to Iceland, just ridden the horses a couple of times. It was huge fun.

Why does your wife resist a dog? Is there something that the right breed of dog could over come? Like a low shedding non drooling breed?

Maybe because she was raised in a no-pet household. We had dogs (briefly), a cat, and especially parakeets when I grew up. Sometimes I'd like to have a parrot-- but they live almost as long as humans (well, pretty long) and I'd be concerned, decades down the line, what would happen if the bird survived me. I guess they're also very social and need attention or else the become neurotic. It's like raising a child.
You must live in the country. I have for several years now.
