Oh Que!

Hahaha! WWell done Elle,

Yesterday was a bit... Difficult. Luckily we only had a small amount of fluffy snow. The day started with a 4 am wake up, on the road by 5am after loading trucks with 50 lb ice bags, shovels, etc. we made a fuel stop at Kwik trip and when we turned the truck back on, it died. Great. Got a new battery upon advice from a mechanic, still nothing...I knew it wasn't the battery.

Long story less long? It was the a/c pump and a pulley had completely seized which made starting the truck mpossible. New pulley and a/c bypass and we were on our way...now it is afternoon and we have 45 properties to do. We blew thorough them, one of the two other crews who only had ten to do started at the end of ours but left at 4pm wich left us out til pretty late. By the time boss man and I got home everyone else was in bed. I warmed us up some chili, took a shower, did dishes and laundry and passed out.... Fit bit says 24k plus steps and 12mi,ex's yesterday ...so much for light duty.

Ugh. I try to stay inside as much as I can these days. Too cold out.

Oh,,,'Fit bit'? is that the app that measures how much movement you do in a day?

and...seems I will be travelling again (sigh) - to Hong Kong for my work visa! It's called 'the Hong Kong visa run'.

Its finally a little cold here and right now my cats have snuggled under a blanket I have wrapped around me while I drink a morning tea and look at my frosty garden through the window. My girl dog is sitting on my feet. G and the little man dog have gone running.

The weird this we also have a chicken trying to sit on eggs.

I suppose I should hurry up and run a bath.

haha we have a 'little boy dog' a chihuahua (actually he's the equivalent of an old man now) and a 'girl dog' - a Border Collie.

lol it'd be weird only if the chicken was sitting on the eggs in the fridge!

My little boy dog is bigger than a chihuahua, he is not a foot and a half big though. We had always giant dogs before, so the problem I have is that people call him puppy, and he is NOT a puppy. just gets away with murder my girl dog is 30 inches tall, but curls up tiny like a cat.

We live in a 2nd floor apartment. They love the lift/elevator to the ground floor when they need to go pee. But Taco, the Chihuahua if he's in a hurry, will take the stairs.

Stupid criminal: After having a conversation with me about the fact that my brother is a police lieutenant and working tonight, he revealed a lot of identifying information in a phone call in my presence. I have a near eidetic memory for dialogue.

He decided to rip me off, thinking I would have no way to find him. Probably before he actually got home I'd already cruised past his house to confirm the address for the investigating officer. They were able to identify him locate his phone number and leave him a message. Yes, I will be pressing charges.

Yes the fit bit is a health monitoring device. Steps and such. Our goal for today is 30k steps....which should be over 15 miles.

My pup is still at my moms...I miss him like crazy

Somebody needs a date.

Taco! :D

I don't know how mine would feel about an apartment, they are spoilt with the farm. I think girl dog would be fine so long as she could sit on the sofa.

I don't think I ever have taken her in a lift. I have taken little guy, it was ok, he baulked the return journey, but then was ok. :D. I think it was more sharing with others he was not keen on. He is a bit of a pest though...he goes over the fields by himself, onto next doors farm, luckily next door are gone about it, and its only me who dislikes this behaviour. Infact, next door encourage him over to work for them too. I like him working there, I just would rather we gave him permission to go, or took him over.

haha I didn't name him Taco but it kinda suits him.

The dogs are so familiar with the lifts (there are two side by side), they know by the sound I guess (better hearing than us) which door is going to open. They wait for the door to open then bound inside.

Life update

I love love love living in my bosses basement, his kids are so much fun. At first I was not sure if his daughter liked me or hated me, she's five and loves to climb on me, jump on me, my legs are bruised....she brought out a huge geode and said she was going to hit me in the head with it...she didn't. I guess I am truly blessed.

Work has been craaaazy, and I have been taking all the hours I can get. The ankle is fabulous. I did have to take my brace off one day because after shoveling for eight hours with a few more to go the ankle was so swollen the brace was cutting off circulation. It sure felt good today to have a day off. Fit it says I averaged 24k steps each day last week ... Around 10 to 12 miles a day. I am so stoked about being able to get back to work and move around again!

Very little time til my Packers kick some ass! I can't wait....

Life is being good to you Jezz?:)

It is! So good...

My uncle just found out he has pancreatic cancer...they gave him six months...the very next trip to the dr they gave him two weeks. He went to Duluth and started chemo, now they are saying he may have a year! I need to go north a lot to see him. To me though that was very good news!

That's good news, Jezzi.

Let's hope he gets as much of that in comfort as possible. :rose:

Btw...one night this week I might happily have sent you girl dog.. She woke me up all the time just to go and run around the garden to wriggle her tail with joy...no weeing, or anything, just to run around and be glad to be alive. As she is usually the laziest dog in the world this was ridiculous.

Last night little man dog chased a rat from the farm yard over to the house, which is NOT cool. G said it went behind my mint bed, which is RIGHT by the kitchen! under one of the kitchen windows. I have left little guy out all day but its almost time to give them their supper and I don't think he found anything .

That's good news, Jezzi.

Omg. I miss Cody so much... I need to get my happy ass up north and pick up my pooch....Elle you are lucky boy dog takes care of the "little things" for you...as far as girl dog? Was it a full moon?

Yes Dave, good news, unless he is suffering. I have not gotten up there yet, so I hope it's not the case.

No it wasn't a full moon, she was just full lunatic. :).

Little guy is a working dog, and its his JOB to take care of things. So, he really should lose a bonus or something for letting it get near the house. ;)

With the amount you are walking on the ankle is Cody in the right place? Is it feeling good now though? Do you think the operation and recovery time has done the trick, I really hope so!!!:rose:

Bad dog no biscuit!

I would say the surgery was a success I am afraid of what my Dr is going to say about my lack of light duty but I need the hours so what am I gonna do? Out of all our employees last pay period one had zero hours. One had eight and I had overtime. I think I have proven myself to my boss and my coworkers that there is nothing I won't do when it comes to my job. Since my boss has deemed me second in command I feel it is only right that anything that I tell them to do I should not only be willing but able to do myself as well.

Celebrating here today.

My stuff got through customs. And it's on its way here. Might take a week though.
BUT, had to pay an extra 12000 rmb. That's 20 thousand total. Not counting the airfares and accommodation I've had to do to complete the paperwork.
But it will be worth it to end the stress of the whole process.

A document (Police Check for my new job) I'd been waiting for from Australia FINALLY arrived at my Dad's place and he scanned it and emailed it this morning.

Oh and my passport returned on Monday with my visa, so now I can travel more easily. Perhaps to Hong Kong for the work visa (ugh).

This sounded like good news until the ugh!

Won't the cats take care of anything that might get in the house?

This sounds like a lot of trouble. I don't know how you're able to keep your good attitude about it. I think I'd have gone on a rampage had they put me through all this. I'm glad you're finally getting your things back though.

I've been so good this year so far. I'm on day 9 of my 30-day yoga "camp," and I'm slowly adding back HIIT training to my daily workouts. I'm finally feeling like myself again. :) :)

I get Cody back when I have time to make the ten hour round trip... Having one day off a week is not cutting it!

Oh it IS good news. The 'ugh' was for more travelling. I just wanna kick back and relax before I start work again on the 15th Feb.

Travel can be fun! Try to make the most of it.
