I posted three stories less than 24 hours ago, and for some reason I went and checked on them in my control panel... and they're all approved. But they don't show up in the "New" list. But they are listed on my member profile page. And I'm sure everything's fine, but now for some bizarre reason I'm really nervous. Because I wasn't expecting them to be posted so soon.

Okay, that's all.

I've waited days and days for a story to appear, and on other occasions had them show up quickly, in one case within a couple of hours of sending it in. So I wouldn't get too concerned if I were you. I'm sure they will pop up on the New list soon.

Oh, I know, I know -- I'm not really worried. I'm just nervous, and babbling. I didn't get nearly this nervous before, but this is weird. Unexpected. I have to go throw up now.

Believe me, I understand.

Congrats Sarah. Don't worry, people will love your new stories just as I've loved your other ones. Have confidence and have faith.

Sarah take deep breaths... but remember to exhale as well... congrats and all the best.:D

This is the way the back end works.

First, the site updates itself every four hours. That means that it regenerates all the pages in the database and makes sure it's all happy happy joy joy.

When she goes through and approves stories it takes literally hours to do. The stories do not show up on the new page until the necessary pages are updated. This happens on two occasions, one, when she manually updates (when she's finished approving stories) and two, when the site does it at its appointed time (which is why a short list of new stories will sometimes appear before the huge list).

So, when your stuff shows up in your control panel, but not on the new page, it's because she hasn't updated the site manually or your stuff wasn't approved in time to get caught in the automated update.

If it doesn't show up on the new pages by, oh, 4 am PST, then you can panic and frantically PM Laurel about it.

I hope she doesn't kill me for this.

:D

Wow you are really courting bodily harm here tonight aren't you Muff? :D Will the same go for the story I posted tonight? Should I frantically start PMing Larel now or wait til the morning.;)

Educating the Capo Ch. 01? It's in the new list, babes.

Frantically PM her if you like, but I'm sure she'll just send you a brief PM about how it's posted and you can feel free to PM her if you have any other questions. She's all polite like that.

I'd just say, dude, it's in the new list. Clean out your browser cache dollface!

Oh shit! That was wayyyyyyyyy too quick for me. I was expecting the 5 days it took for my first story. I know Laurel is a busy wee camper and was really quite happy to wait. Thanks for the heads up Mrs Muffin. Much appreciated.:D

Thank you KM! And thank you Earl! And everyone else who sent support...

I just woke up and I haven't even checked it out yet, but I appreciate the thoughts and the information very much.

I don't know what was going this weekend. Two things that I posted that really should have taken the 3 days to post, went up overnight. I was shocked, but pleasantly surprised.

I suspect it depends on how many items Laurel receives and how quickly she can wade through the stuff she gets. Or maybe magic elves showed up to give her a hand? :)

Whatever, just sit back and enjoy!
