Odd One Out

isn't B Alan Wells???? (probably not)

a. Usain Bolt

Correct :)

isn't B Alan Wells????

Correct :)

c. Carl Lewis

Correct :)

Mr. Jesse Owens.........and while he is probably not the odd one out in this piece or this reason HE is the only one of these tracksters who actually DUG footholds into the cinder track to help his start. Berlin Olympics 1936

I'm not sure if you are saying Owens is the odd one out or not. But because you're new, and because it's such a stretch to actually figure that as making him the OOO, I'll say

Correct :) (he's NOT the OOO)

G. Ben Johnson

Correct :)

e, f, h & the Odd One Out (and why) still to go.

Response to this thread has been pretty poor, and very slow. Hardly any comments at all. I have none made up now, so when this one is done, unless enough people are interested as I've said 100 times before... it's hard to know if it's no-one's interested, or just that no-one knows if no-one replies when they don't know.

It's no probs to me either way, as I have enough to do.

Well you already know how I feel.

This one's hard though (at least for those sport's dummies among us)

Well... the lack of even a reply until you said anything speaks volumes hun.

Sad, as I thought this was a cool idea. I also thought this one was pretty easy, even if you aren't sporty. You can work out what they are, have in common, and go from there. I was obviously wrong. :(

I dunno, DB. You are doing a bunch of games atm.

PS, I haven't a clue again. I'll check when i get home later and see if I can reason one out.

I'm gonna say Ben Johnson is the OOO - for being disqualified gold medal winner in the Olympics.

And yes... correct.

All won the Olympic 100m title.... but Ben Johnson was subsequently disqualified... so is the only one not to have a Gold Medal. :)

Unsurprisingly.... e & f to go folks. :)

OK folks.... that's all answered.

Now.... I have no more prepped at all.

I'm willing to do more IF there is a demand. If not, then no probs.

Response to this thread has been exceptionally slow compared to others. I'd like feedback. Please. Are they too hard? Too boring? Too much effort for you? Is it because it's me on my own, and you only do the others because of Razzy/Jen/LM? Anything I can do to make people post and enter?

Please let me know. If there's no response I'll take it no-one wants it to continue.

I for one would like you to continue it.. just so I can take another shot at it.. ... I know sometimes I struggle a bit with figuring out the pics or the OOO, but then, I'm better with crunching numbers rather than recognizing pics.. ;) :p

Well I think you know my answer, but I understand if you don't want to go through all the work for only a very small following. I have thought this one to be a bit harder than the others, but that's one of the things I like about it. :)

In the end, whatever you decide is fine with me.

Jen said she found it harder too..... and I could not see why, and she couldn't explain.

After all... it's the same as the connection round.... just the other way around. And after the connection/OOO apart it's just identifying pictures.

Obniously it IS harder if 2 of you think so... I just wondered why...

Also... I don't want to dumb it down as to become like the typical playground post-count upping threads. So any advice would be appreciated. Or are litsters just too lazy/stupid/can't be bothered cos they're here to flirt/have cyber/meet someone and it's the wrong forum for these things?

But if you recall, whenever there has been an OOO bonus on the connection thread, people had a harder time with it. Perhaps we're over-thinking it.

Or perhaps, it's because the you can't puzzle out the OOO if you don't know the connection. (For that matter, sometimes you can't even figure out what the pictures are if you don't know the connection. And with this thread you don't see the connection unless someone figures out the OOO first.) Does that make any sense?

Sorta... and Jen agrees with you.

So... what should I do?

I'm really asking EVERYONE... because something is obviously wrong... so what should I do to make it appeal to more people... or is it a vain attempt because it's me?  :)

It's also very specialized. With pictures, it's almost a 'you know it or you don't' and you can't really puzzle it out. Just my two cents.

BTW you're awesome for putting up these games =)

I enjoy the game but I havn't visited Lit as regulely as would be necessary to be able to take part.

Here's my two cents...

I'm new to the game - have only answered 8 or so times and have gotten 2 OOO's. They haven't been that difficult to me. Maybe those two just jumped out at me.

Here's the scoring before last round
imnauti - 14
msmaggie - 13
mrtnmoon - 10
BradBigBrain - 8
Kdawg12 - 8
WickedDoll - 5
jenniferbaby - 4
big d in me - 3
CurlyKat - 3
Razzbeary - 3
availableslave2u - 2
bitchgoddess3 - 2
cindy70s - 2
hdlynnette - 2
janeyl - 2
magicalhands - 2
misfortunex - 2
chargergirl - 1
DoRaMe - 1
lovemonster - 1
loveswickedlegs - 1
Malcom Kampbell - 1
teasing tim - 1
wonderingwhy - 1

I think that there are seven regulars - that is 4 or above and you have up 9 answers each round. If a regular gets one wrong then it will drag on because there's no way to answer again during a round. If you added a 12 or 24 hour rule, then it would go quicker.

If you want to continue, I think you should. If you don't, you shouldn't.

Thanks Brad. :)

I am just wanting advice, and I'll take it on board. But the one thing I don't want is a cliquey little thread where I'm doing questions for the same 6 or 7 people. As much as I love and value their support, it'd get kinda boring and repetitive.... and I think they'd agree with me.

So I'm not sure a 24 hour rule would help in that regard. All it'd do would mean those at the top would get double points and new people would be kept away by looking at the scoreboard.

I dunno... I could be wrong... It's certainly something to think about :)

I love the thought and creativity you pour into all of your threads. Lit is a better place to be because of you all. I've not kept up with this thread, but it's piqued my interest and I might just start playing.;) Thanks so much!

It's possible that you just haven't given it enough time to catch on. We're still in the first round of this game. I checked the quizzical connections game when it first started and at this point (after 13 sets) this was the score:

christ.... question 13 sure WAS unlucky.

Trombonus - 14
lexielou2 - 11
Morrigu - 11
janeyl - 9
KingofmyCastle -7
chargergirl - 5
erostorm - 5
mrtnmoon - 5
Razzbeary - 5
Domsheena - 4
Golden Silence -4
Lady Liz - 4
bluefoxlady - 3
Johnny OH - 3
Essa - 2
Simply Subbie -2
BradBigBrain - 1
fire breeze - 1
Magical_hands -1
msmaggie - 1

By my count, quizzical connections had 20 participants with scores ranging from 1 - 14. So far on this thread you've had 24 participants with scores in the same range. So while those other threads may seem more successful to you, it may just be that this one hasn't fully caught on yet. :rose:
